Chest pain, signs of a stroke, severe bleeding or trouble breathing? Call your local emergency number. We do not have an emergency department.
Tarrowmere Community Hospital runs outpatient clinics, a minor injuries unit, X-ray and two wards for people recovering nearer home. If you have an appointment, a sprain or someone to visit, start here.
We are a small hospital by design. Planned care, minor injuries and recovery happen here. Emergencies and major surgery happen at the larger regional hospital.
| Service | What it covers | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|
| Minor injuries unit | Walk-in care from nurses for cuts, sprains, small burns and suspected simple fractures, with X-ray on site. | Adults and children with a recent minor injury |
| Outpatient clinics | Visiting consultants and specialist nurses hold clinics here so that you can be seen nearer home. | People referred by their doctor |
| X-ray and ultrasound | Imaging by appointment, or on the day if the minor injuries unit sends you. | People with a request from a clinician |
| Blood tests | A phlebotomy room with booked slots for tests your doctor or clinic has asked for. | People with a blood test form |
| Inpatient wards | Elder and Rowan wards care for people recovering after a stay at a larger hospital, before they go home. | People transferred for recovery and rehabilitation |
| Therapy and rehabilitation | Physiotherapy and occupational therapy for people on the wards and for outpatients. | People regaining movement or confidence at home |
Clinic days change through the year. Your appointment letter gives the date, the room and the entrance to use.
Most clinic visits take under an hour, though some clinics run longer. Your letter tells you if yours includes a test.
A general guide to the main site. Bank holiday times can differ, so please phone before you travel.
