Outpatient cardiology · Tamsin Row and Orrel Gate

One heart team, two ways in

Quillon Heart is an outpatient cardiology practice. Patients can book directly. GPs and other clinicians can refer through a pathway that a cardiologist reads every working day.

What we see

Clinics and tests under one roof

Most visits start with an ECG and a conversation. Your cardiologist decides with you whether any other test would help.

  1. Rhythm clinic

For palpitations, blackouts and atrial fibrillation, with ECGs and home heart monitors.

  2. Heart failure clinic

Ongoing care for a heart that is not pumping as well as it should, shared with your usual doctor.

  3. Risk and prevention

A review of blood pressure, cholesterol and family history, with a plan you can follow.

  4. Echocardiogram

An ultrasound of the heart that shows its structure and movement. It takes 30 to 45 minutes.

  5. Holter and blood pressure monitors

Small recorders you wear at home for a day or a week while you go about normal life.

  6. Pre-operative heart checks

A review before planned surgery, at your surgeon's request, with a letter back to them.

How long is a first appointment?

Allow about an hour. Tests such as an echocardiogram may be on the same day or booked for later.

What should I bring?

A list of your medicines, any past test results and notes on your symptoms. Bring someone with you if you like.

Should I take my usual medicines?

Your appointment letter tells you what to do. If you are unsure, phone the practice before your visit.

Will my doctor be told?

Yes. We send your usual doctor a letter after each appointment, and you get a copy.
