Medical and cosmetic

From flare-ups to personal choices

The same clinicians lead both sides of the clinic. On the cosmetic side, a clinician checks suitability first and may suggest not going ahead.

Skin, hair and nail consultations

30 minutes with a dermatologist for acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea or any other concern.

Mole and full-body checks

Marks looked at closely with a dermatoscope, a handheld magnifier with its own light.

Patch testing

Three short visits across one week, with readings of patches placed on your back.

Minor surgery

Biopsy, excision, curettage and cryotherapy for skin lesions, in a clinic visit.

Cosmetic consultations

30 minutes on options, suitability, risks and cost, with no treatment that day.

Cosmetic treatments

Muscle-relaxing injections, dermal filler, chemical peels, and light and laser sessions.

What happens at a skin check

A mole check looks at up to three marks. A full-body check goes from head to toe, with time for your questions.

1

Note anything new or changing

Bring photos if a mark has changed. Skip nail polish and makeup so nothing is hidden.

2

A head to toe look

You undress to your underwear with a gown, and a chaperone is available. We include scalp, nails and between the toes.

3

The dermatoscope

Any mark of interest is looked at through a handheld magnifier and may be photographed for your record.

4

Results and a plan

You hear what we saw before you leave, and get a written summary. Your usual doctor gets a copy if you agree.

Questions

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book directly or with a referral. Some insurers ask for a letter, so check your policy.

Can I send photos before I book?

Yes. Send up to three clear photos and a clinician looks at them, usually within two working days. This is not a diagnosis. Please do not send intimate images. Call us instead and we will arrange a visit.

What should I bring?

A list of your current medicines and creams, the skincare you use, and any past biopsy reports. If a rash has settled, bring photos from when it was at its worst.

When will I hear about a sample?

We call or send a secure message once the lab report is back, usually within 10 working days.

Will I be treated at a cosmetic consultation?

No. The consultation covers options, suitability, risks and cost. You get a written quote and time to decide.

How does a patch test week work?

Patches go on your back on Monday, come off for a first reading on Wednesday, and have a final reading on Friday. Your back needs to stay dry until the last reading.
