An analytics report turns raw numbers into charts people can read at a glance and compare over time. Our screens combine a date-range control, a two-series line chart with a legend, a donut, horizontal bar charts and a cohort retention heatmap, giving you a full reporting layout to study across eight visual styles in light and dark modes. Every example is an original design that comes with its HTML code and a DESIGN.md of colour, type and spacing tokens, in light and dark. Free to use and adapt.

Match the chart to the question. Use line charts for change over time, bar charts for comparing categories, a heatmap for two-dimensional patterns such as cohort retention, and a donut only for a few parts of a whole. If readers need exact values, add a table or data labels alongside the chart.
As few as the data needs. Two or three distinct hues cover most comparisons, and a single hue graded from light to dark suits ordered values such as retention rates. Check that every colour pair keeps enough contrast in both light and dark themes, and never rely on colour as the only cue.
A donut struggles when there are more than five or six segments, when the values are close together, or when readers need to compare across several periods. People judge length more accurately than angle, so a sorted bar chart is usually clearer. Keep donuts for one simple share, such as traffic by device.
