A kanban board shows work moving through stages, so a team can see at a glance what is in progress and what is stuck. Our screens show four status columns of task cards with labels, due date chips, comment and subtask counts and assignee avatars, designed for web and mobile across eight visual styles, light and dark. Every example is an original design that comes with its HTML code and a DESIGN.md of colour, type and spacing tokens, in light and dark. Free to use and adapt.

Most teams work well with three to five columns, such as To do, In progress, In review and Done. Each column should represent a real stage in the workflow. Too many columns make the board wide and hard to scan; merge stages that do not need separate tracking.
The task title, the person assigned, a due date if there is one, a few labels and small indicators for comments, attachments or subtasks. Anything more belongs in the detail view. Cards should be scannable from a distance and consistent in layout.
Columns rarely fit side by side on a phone, so most apps show one column at a time with swipeable tabs or a horizontal scroll that snaps to each column. Replace drag and drop with a status menu or long-press action, which is easier on small screens.
