A task list is where people decide what to work on next, so it must be easy to scan and quick to update. Our My tasks screens group tasks by due date with checkboxes, tags, priority, due dates and assignee avatars, plus a filter and sort bar, designed for web and mobile across eight visual styles in light and dark. Every example is an original design that comes with its HTML code and a DESIGN.md of colour, type and spacing tokens, in light and dark. Free to use and adapt.

Keep each row scannable: checkbox, title, then a few metadata items such as due date, priority and assignee. Group by date or project, make adding and completing tasks fast, and give people sorting and filtering. Hide less-used details in a task view rather than crowding the row.
Use a small, consistent marker such as a coloured flag or label with text, and limit the scale to three or four levels. Avoid colouring whole rows, which makes the list noisy. Let people sort or filter by priority so important work rises to the top.
Usually they move out of view after a brief moment, so the list reflects what is left, with an undo option in case of mistakes. Keep a way to show completed tasks for reference, such as a collapsed section or a filter.
