Lead with the order number and the delivery estimate: they’re what customers look for first.
List each item with a thumbnail, variant and price so the receipt can be checked at a glance.
On shipping updates, show progress as named stages, not just a percentage.
Say what happens if nobody’s home, before they have to ask.

Questions

What should an order confirmation email include?

The order number and date, each item with quantity and price, subtotal, shipping, tax and total, the shipping address, the payment method (last four digits only), a delivery estimate and a link to view or change the order.

How do you show delivery progress in an email?

A row of table cells works everywhere: one cell per stage with a filled bar for stages already reached and a muted bar for the rest, with the current stage label in bold.
