A side drawer opens a record without leaving the list. These examples slide a customer drawer over a data table, keeping the selected rows visible behind a light scrim: a header with status, three key figures, tabs, plan and payment details, recent activity and a sticky footer. On mobile the same content becomes a bottom sheet. Every example is an original design that comes with its HTML code and a DESIGN.md of colour, type and spacing tokens, in light and dark. Free to use and adapt.

Look up a customer and report on them
Use a drawer for quick look-ups and light edits where people return to the list afterwards. Use a full page for long forms or content people want to share or bookmark.
A light scrim helps show that the drawer has focus. Non-modal drawers that let people keep working in the list can skip it.
Commonly 360 to 480 pixels on desktop, wide enough for a two-column key–value list without wrapping.
