Prestige Brand Guidelines
The pressure cooker.

Two constants: an Indian-warm palette and an everyday sans register. Abstract homage — not the Prestige cooker or wordmark.
The pressure cooker
Prestige put the pressure cooker in Indian kitchens.
Prestige is a lesson in a staple product as the identity. The flagship brand of India’s TTK Prestige, it began making pressure cookers in 1959 and turned the pressure cooker into an Indian household icon.
Its identity is the pressure cooker. Prestige makes the pressure cooker — the object it is known for across India — alongside cookware, mixer grinders, induction cooktops and gas stoves. A fixture of the Indian kitchen. A staple almost every household knows.
(Honest notes: Prestige is the flagship brand of TTK Prestige Ltd, part of India’s TTK Group (incorporated 1955); it began pressure-cooker manufacture in 1959 with technical collaboration from the Prestige Group of the UK. Its corporate headquarters is in Bengaluru, though its registered office is in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, so we say “Bengaluru-headquartered” carefully. Its signature is the pressure cooker, an Indian household icon, alongside a broad kitchen range. On production, it is made in India (plants in Hosur and elsewhere), though some products are imported or outsourced, so we don’t claim 100% made-in-India. On ownership, TTK Prestige is publicly listed in India (BSE/NSE); on the trademark, TTK owns “Prestige” in India and licensed the US market, but worldwide rights are not confirmed — the name originated with the UK’s Platers & Stampers (renamed Prestige Group in 1956), and the Indian and UK Prestige are historically linked but distinct. There’s no official brand hex, and we reproduce no cooker or logo — these tones are an unofficial interpretation. This is design commentary and does not promote any product.)
Colour
Prestige lives in an Indian-warm palette. Click a swatch to copy the hex.
Prestige’s identity is warm, everyday and Indian — a deep red, an ink, a saffron, a teal, and a cream. The palette leans Indian warm — the register of an everyday Indian kitchen staple. It signals warmth and ubiquity rather than novelty. The honest caveat: with no published brand hex, these tones are an original, unofficial interpretation, not first-party values.
The lesson is an Indian-warm palette signals a household staple. Prestige’s world is a warm, familiar object. For designers, it is a reminder that owning a staple category — the pressure cooker — can make a brand a household word, and that a warm, spice-toned palette signals everyday belonging. Because a deep red can fail as small text, keep type dark and let the colour live in the accents, palette and band. The takeaways: own a staple; signal belonging; keep it warm; and treat any single hex as unofficial.
Typography
The register is an everyday sans — clear, warm, practical.
Prestige’s identity carries a clear, warm, practical spirit — an everyday, familiar object. A friendly neutral sans captures the mood: it is legible and approachable, the register of a trusted household brand. Set in an Indian-warm palette, the everyday sans feels clear and warm — exactly the personality Prestige carries. It is practical rather than showy, mirroring a kitchen staple. (Prestige’s real cooker and wordmark are works we describe but do not reproduce, and the exact typeface is not ours to use.) Because it is not ours to use, the honest description is “an everyday sans spirit,” shown here in a stand-in. The type behaves like the brand: clear, warm and practical.

A staple product as identity
Prestige stands for the pressure cooker.
Prestige is a lesson in making a staple product the identity. An Indian-warm palette, an everyday sans and a pressure cooker make a household essential the whole brand — warm, everyday, Indian. The staple is the differentiator. The differentiator is owning the pressure cooker — a category nearly every Indian kitchen relies on.
Put to work, the identity is a category everyone knows. A designer building in this spirit would anchor the brand to a genuine staple and make it dependable and safe, so the name becomes shorthand for the object itself. The lesson Prestige teaches is that a staple compounds ubiquity: being the pressure cooker of Indian kitchens since 1959 made the brand a household word, and a warm, everyday design language keeps that belonging front and centre across a wide range.
For designers and brand-builders, Prestige offers a clear takeaway: own a genuine staple. The lessons: own a staple; signal belonging; keep it warm; and be honest about the story. It is also a reminder to stay accurate: it began pressure-cooker manufacture in 1959 with UK Prestige collaboration, it is the flagship of the listed TTK Prestige, and its headquarters is in Bengaluru with its registered office in Hosur — the palette here is an unofficial interpretation. And it is a reminder that made-where honesty needs care: describing it as made in India while noting that some products are imported or outsourced, rather than claiming 100% made-in-India, keeps the story trustworthy. It is a reminder, too, that a trademark can have two homes: “Prestige” originated in the UK and is owned by TTK in India, historically linked but distinct — worth stating plainly. Prestige made the pressure cooker the brand — proof that a staple product can be the difference.
