Two constants: a terracotta-and-court-green palette and an elegant serif register. Abstract homage — not a Casablanca piece, monogram or wordmark.
The tennis-club fantasy
Casablanca dresses a luxe Riviera tennis-club fantasy, from Paris.
Casablanca is a lesson in a fantasy world as the identity. A French house from Paris, it builds a whole aesthetic around a luxe leisure fantasy — a Mediterranean tennis club, silk shirts and painterly prints, an after-sport dream.
Its identity is the tennis-club fantasy. Casablanca’s printed silks and monogrammed leisurewear, evoking a Riviera club that never quite existed, are the work it is known for. Leisure, made luxe. A world you want to live in.
(Honest notes: Casablanca is a French label based in Paris, founded in 2018 by Charaf Tajer — a co-founder of the Parisian streetwear brand Pigalle — with its first collection in 2019, so we keep those dates distinct. Its signature is luxe après-sport leisurewear: a tennis-club, Riviera-Mediterranean fantasy, silk shirts, hand-painted prints, and a monogram and laurel-crest emblem, drawing on Tajer’s French-Moroccan heritage; it was an LVMH Prize finalist in 2020. On production, its work is made in Europe, with Italian silk and manufacturing central, alongside Moroccan and French elements — so we don’t claim it is made in Portugal, which is only a retail presence. On ownership, the honest and important point: it is not independent — a 2023 growth-oriented buyout and recapitalization put it under investor backing, with Tajer remaining founder and creative director; it is a healthy, growing business, not distressed, and it is not owned by a luxury conglomerate (the LVMH link is only the 2020 prize). Its monogram, laurel-crest emblem, silk prints and New Balance collaboration are IP we describe but don’t reproduce, and there’s no official brand hex — these tones are an unofficial interpretation. This is design commentary and does not promote any product.)
Colour
Casablanca lives in a terracotta-and-court-green palette. Click a swatch to copy the hex.
Casablanca’s identity is luxe, warm and escapist — a terracotta, an ink, a court green, a graphite, and a cream. The palette leans terracotta and court green — the register of Mediterranean warmth and a tennis court. It signals fantasy and craft rather than novelty. The honest caveat: with no published brand hex, these tones are an original, unofficial interpretation, not first-party values.
The lesson is a terracotta-and-court-green palette signals a leisure fantasy. Casablanca’s world is a luxe, warm, escapist object. For designers, it is a reminder that a fully-realised fantasy world — a place, a mood, a wardrobe for it — can be the whole identity, and that a warm, Mediterranean palette signals that escape. Because a mid terracotta can fail as small text, keep type dark and let the colour live in the accents, palette and band. The takeaways: build a world; make it luxe; keep it consistent; and treat any single hex as unofficial.
Typography
The register is an elegant serif — luxe, warm, escapist.
Casablanca’s identity carries a luxe, warm, escapist spirit — a fantasy, well-made object. An elegant serif captures the mood: it is refined and inviting, the register of a luxury leisure brand. Set in a terracotta-and-court-green palette, the elegant serif feels luxe and warm — exactly the personality Casablanca carries. It is escapist rather than plain, mirroring a printed silk. (Casablanca’s real pieces, monogram, crest and prints are things we describe but do not reproduce, and the exact typeface is not ours to use.) Because it is not ours to use, the honest description is “an elegant serif spirit,” shown here in a stand-in. The type behaves like the brand: luxe, warm and escapist.

A fantasy world as identity
Casablanca stands for the tennis-club fantasy.
Casablanca is a lesson in making a fantasy world the identity. A terracotta-and-court-green palette, an elegant serif and a printed silk make a luxe leisure fantasy the whole brand — warm, escapist, refined. The world is the differentiator. The differentiator is total commitment to a fiction: a Riviera tennis club, rendered in every print, colour and garment until it feels real.
Put to work, the identity is a world as design. A house building in this spirit would invent a coherent place and mood, then design a complete wardrobe for it — prints, palette, monogram all pointing to the same fantasy — so the customer buys into a world, not just a shirt. The lesson Casablanca teaches is that a fully-built world plus real craft can build a brand: a consistent fantasy, luxe materials, and a refined design language give it an identity a trend piece can’t. The world is the personality, and the craft is the substance.
For designers and brand-builders, Casablanca offers a clear takeaway: build a world worth living in. The lessons: invent a place; make it luxe; keep it consistent; and be honest about the story. It is also a reminder to stay accurate: Casablanca was founded in 2018 with its first collection in 2019, its production centres on Italian silk in Europe rather than Portugal, and since a 2023 recapitalization it is investor-backed rather than fully independent — though not conglomerate-owned — the palette here is an unofficial interpretation. Casablanca made the tennis-club fantasy the brand — proof that a world can be the difference.
