Viski Brand Guidelines
The home-bar design.

Two constants: a gold-and-obsidian palette and a Deco serif register. Abstract homage — not the Viski barware or packaging.
The home-bar design
Viski makes design-forward barware for the home bar.
Viski is a lesson in form and function, refused to be a choice. A house brand of Seattle’s True Brands, launched around 2012, it built its identity on the premise that home-bar gear was “either too basic, or favored fashion while forgoing function.”
Its identity is design-forward home barware. Viski’s cocktail glassware, shakers, jiggers, strainers, ice tools, decanters and flasks come in premium metal finishes — gold, platinum, gunmetal, copper and “obsidian” matte black — in faceted, geometric forms across collections like Mercury and Paragon. Refined, function-tested, gift-ready. Design you can actually shake a drink with.
(Honest notes: Viski is a house brand of True Brands (Seattle, reported founded 2003); the ~2012 Viski launch is brand-stated. Its own language leans “mid-century modern / faceted” — we call the look Art-Deco-leaning as our editorial read, not their claim. It’s designed in Seattle, but the manufacturing location isn’t stated, so we don’t claim “made in USA.” There’s no official brand hex, so these tones are an unofficial interpretation. This is design commentary and does not promote any product.)
Colour
Viski lives in a gold-and-obsidian palette. Click a swatch to copy the hex.
Viski’s identity is refined, metallic and modern — a gold, an obsidian, a copper, a gunmetal, and an ivory. The palette pairs a gold with an obsidian — the register of premium-metal, faceted barware. It signals glamour and function rather than novelty. The honest caveat: with no published brand hex, these tones are an original, unofficial interpretation, not first-party values.
The lesson is a gold with an obsidian signals a design-forward barware brand. Viski’s world is a gleaming, geometric home bar. For designers, it is a reminder that accessible price and real design need not be opposites. Because a mid gold can fail as small text, keep type dark and let the colour live in the accents, palette and band. The takeaways: refuse the form-vs-function choice; commit to a metal-finish palette; keep the geometry consistent; and treat any single hex as unofficial.
Typography
The register is a Deco serif — glamorous, geometric, modern.
Viski’s identity carries a glamorous, geometric, modern spirit — a gleaming, faceted barware. A high-contrast Deco-leaning serif captures the mood: it is elegant and confident, the register of mid-century glamour. Set in a gold-and-obsidian palette, the Deco serif feels glamorous and geometric — exactly the personality Viski carries. It is polished rather than plain, mirroring premium-metal finishes. (Viski’s real barware and wordmark are works we describe but do not reproduce, and the exact typeface is not ours to use.) Because it is not ours to use, the honest description is “a Deco serif spirit,” shown here in a stand-in. The type behaves like the brand: glamorous, geometric and modern.

Form and function
Viski stands for design-forward home barware.
Viski is a lesson in refusing the form-versus-function choice. A gold-and-obsidian palette, a Deco serif and a gleaming, faceted barware make design-forward the whole brand — glamorous, geometric, modern. The design is the differentiator. The differentiator is premium-metal barware that still works.
For designers and brand-builders, Viski offers a clear takeaway: make accessible design that performs. The lessons: refuse the form-vs-function trade-off; commit to a metal-finish palette; keep the geometry consistent; and be honest about the story. It is also a reminder to stay accurate: it’s a house brand of Seattle’s True Brands, launched around 2012, designed in the US with manufacturing undisclosed, and the palette here is an unofficial interpretation. Viski made design-forward the brand — proof that function and glamour can be the difference together.
