Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between the two encode modes?

'Encode whole URL' uses encodeURI and keeps URL structure (: / ? & #). The default uses encodeURIComponent, which escapes everything — right for a single query-string value.

Why decode a URL?

Percent-encoded links (with %20, %3D, etc.) are hard to read; decoding restores the original characters.

I get an error when decoding — why?

A stray '%' or a malformed escape sequence makes the input invalid. Check for incomplete %XX codes.

Is my data private?

Yes — nothing is uploaded; encoding and decoding happen in your browser.
