| Setting | Resolution | A4 page becomes | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Screen | 72 DPI | about 595 × 842 px | Quick previews |

Why choose PNG over JPG?
PNG is lossless: text, charts, diagrams and line art stay perfectly crisp with no JPEG blotches around letters. The trade-off is file size — photo-heavy pages are much larger as PNG than as JPG, so use PDF to JPG for brochures and photo pages.
Troubleshooting
- Images are huge: use Standard instead of Print, or export only the pages you need with a page range.
- You need a transparent background: PDF pages render on white, as they look in a viewer.
- The PDF asks for a password: unlock it first with Unlock PDF.

Is PDF to PNG lossless?
Yes. PNG uses lossless compression, so text, lines and flat colour stay perfectly sharp at the resolution you choose.
Why are my PNG files large?
Lossless images of full pages are big, especially at print resolution. Use the screen setting for web use, or choose JPG instead when file size matters more than perfect sharpness.
Can I export only some pages?
Yes. Enter the pages you want in the Pages box (for example 1-3, 5) and only those are exported; leave it empty for every page.
Does it keep transparency?
PDF pages normally have a white background, so the PNGs are exported with that background, exactly as the page looks.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Your PDF is rendered entirely in your browser, so nothing is sent to a server.
