Shamrock Template

Print a shamrock template for free. Pick a classic three-leaf shamrock with a stem, a shamrock without a stem, a four-leaf clover, a round-leaf shamrock, a heart-leaf shamrock or a stitched-edge shamrock for felt, or one of each. Choose a size from 1 in to a 7 in full-page shamrock, or type any size up to 40 in: shamrocks bigger than one sheet are tiled with overlap guides, for a door or a classroom wall. Print as many as you like on a sheet (or tick “Fill the sheet”), make a nested set of sizes, or a shamrock garland that cuts as one strip. Add leaf veins to colour, a dashed outline for cutting practice, a hanging hole or names, one per shamrock. Download a true-size PDF on US Letter or A4, an SVG cut file or a PNG. Runs in your browser with our own code; your words and picture never leave your device, and nothing is saved. Every outline is our own drawing. Shapes bigger than one sheet are tiled with overlap guides. The PDF is true size: print at 100% (Actual size) and check the 50 mm bar on each sheet.

How to print a shamrock template

  1. Choose what to make: shamrocks of one size, a nested set of sizes, or a shamrock garland.
  2. Choose the style and a size in inches or cm, and how many (or fill the sheet).
  3. Optional: type names or words (one per shamrock), tick leaf veins, a dashed cutting line or a hanging hole, pick green or a pattern.
  4. Download the PDF and print at 100% (Actual size); check the 50 mm bar on each sheet. There is also an SVG (true size, for Cricut, Silhouette or laser cutters) and a 300 DPI PNG, one per sheet.
  5. Cut along the solid line (or the dashes); for nested rings cut the largest outline first.

Every style is drawn by our own code as one closed outline: the leaves and the stem join into a single piece, so nothing falls apart when you cut it out.

Every shamrock in a set is its own piece, labelled with its size and packed onto as few sheets as possible: stack them largest to smallest for layered shamrocks. Shamrocks do not print as rings one inside the other, because the leaves meet at the centre.

Frequently asked questions

What sizes can I print?

Any size from half an inch to 40 inches. The presets go from 1 in to 7 in (one sheet) and 10, 12, 18 and 24 in, which are tiled over several sheets with overlap guides.

What does the size mean?

The shamrock fits a square of that size: a 4 in shamrock is 4 inches at its widest or tallest point, stem included. The line under the preview shows the exact width and height.

What is the difference between a shamrock and a four-leaf clover?

A shamrock has three leaves; a four-leaf clover has four. Both are in the Style list, with or without a stem.

How many shamrocks fit on one page?

It depends on the size: tick “Fill the sheet” and the tool fits as many as it can. The size table on this page shows the counts for US Letter and A4.

What is the dashed outline for?

Cutting practice: the outline prints as short dashes for children to cut along. Leave it unticked for a solid cutting line.

How do I make a shamrock garland?

Choose “Garland (joined chain)”: neighbouring shamrocks overlap at the leaf tips, so the whole chain cuts as one strip. Long garlands are tiled over several sheets.

Can I use it with a Cricut or Silhouette?

Yes. Download the SVG: it is true size in millimetres, with the outlines on their own cut layer.

Can I sell things I make with these shamrocks?

The designs are our own drawings: you may use them and anything you make with them, including things you sell, with no credit needed.
