Resize Video

Resize video online for free — change the resolution to 1080p, 720p or 480p, or reframe for vertical Reels and TikTok (1080 × 1920), square (1080 × 1080) or 4:5 posts. Choose fit-with-bars, fill-and-crop or stretch, or enter a custom size. Runs privately in your browser.

100% private — your video is processed on your device, never uploaded. Conversion happens on your device; nothing is uploaded.

100% private — runs in your browser

Processing uses your browser’s built-in video encoders (WebCodecs) through the open-source Mediabunny library — your video is never uploaded. Works best in recent Chrome, Edge and Safari; the output is kept in memory, so very large files (several GB) may need a computer with plenty of RAM.

How to resize a video

  1. Drop your video in the box.
  2. Pick a size preset or enter a custom width and height.
  3. Choose Fit, Fill and crop, or Stretch.
  4. Click Resize video, preview and download.

What you can use it for

  • Make vertical versions for Reels, Shorts and TikTok
  • Downscale 4K footage to 1080p or 720p
  • Create square videos for feeds and ads

Frequently asked questions

How do I change the resolution of a video?

Choose a size such as 1280 × 720 and click Resize video.

What's the difference between Fit and Fill?

Fit keeps the whole picture and adds black bars where the shape differs; Fill and crop fills the frame and trims the edges; Stretch distorts the picture to fit exactly.

Can I make a landscape video vertical?

Yes — choose 1080 × 1920 and Fill and crop for a full-screen vertical video, or Fit to keep the whole frame with bars.

Is my video uploaded?

No. The video is read and encoded by your own browser using its built-in video encoders, so it never leaves your device — even large or private videos stay private.

Is there a file size limit?

There's no upload limit. The finished video is held in memory before download, so files up to a few GB work on most computers; very large files need more RAM.

Which browsers work?

Recent Chrome, Edge and Safari work best (they have hardware video encoders). Firefox 130+ works for most files.
