What is a JFIF file?
JFIF (JPEG File Interchange Format) is a JPEG image with a different file extension. Browsers on Windows sometimes save images as .jfif, which some apps and upload forms refuse.
Is JFIF the same as JPG?
Essentially, yes — it uses the same JPEG compression. Converting gives you a file with the standard .jpg extension that every app accepts.
Can I just rename .jfif to .jpg?
Often that works, but re-saving guarantees a clean, standard JPG file. This tool does it in one step, for many files at once.
Will I lose quality?
Very little. Keep the quality at 85 or higher and the result looks the same as the original.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Conversion happens in your browser, so your files never leave your device.
