Print a penguin template for free. Choose a penguin outline in one piece, standing and seen from the front or walking and seen from the side, or a penguin in pieces to cut from black, white and orange card: a body, a white belly and face, two wings, two feet, a beak and two eyes (9 pieces), plus a winter hat and a scarf if you want them (11 pieces). Set the height from 1.6 in to a full page (8 in on one sheet), or a big penguin up to 36 in tiled over several sheets, and fill the sheet with small penguins for a class. Type names to print one on each penguin. Print the outline to colour, or a colour version with a red, blue, green or mixed hat and scarf. The penguins are our own drawings. How to print a penguin template
- Choose an outline (front or side view) or the penguin in pieces.
- Optional: a winter hat and scarf.
- Choose the height; optional: names, the colour version or “Fill the sheet”.
- Download the PDF and print at 100% (Actual size); measure the check square. There is also an SVG (true size, for Cricut, Silhouette or laser cutters) and a 300 DPI PNG, one per sheet.
- Cut out the pieces and glue the penguin together.

Worked out by the tool with 4 mm gaps and the check square on the sheet (front view, no hat). A 12 in penguin is tiled over 4 US Letter sheets, a 24 in penguin over 9.

What pieces are in the penguin craft?

What colours should I cut the pieces from?
Black for the body and wings, white for the belly and eyes, orange for the beak and feet, and any bright colour for the hat and scarf. Or print the colour version and just cut.
Is there a side view?
Yes: choose the side view for a penguin walking to the right, with its flipper, belly and beak drawn on. The pieces are for the front view.
What sizes can I print?

Is it a particular kind of penguin?
No. It is our own drawing of a penguin in general, not a record of any one species, and not any cartoon or film penguin.
How do I check the print is the right size?
Measure the check square on the first sheet: it must be exactly 1 in (or 2 cm with cm units) on each side. If it is smaller, print again at 100% or Actual size, not Fit to page.
Can I use it with a Cricut or Silhouette?
Yes. Download the SVG: it is true size in millimetres, with the cut lines on their own layer.
Can I sell things I make with these penguins?
The designs are our own drawings: you may use them and anything you make with them, including things you sell, with no credit needed.
