Bunny Ears Template

Print a bunny ears template for free and make a paper headband that fits. Pick a head size (toddler, child, tween or adult) or type your own measurement, and the band is drawn to that length plus an overlap at the back. A band longer than the paper is split into pieces that fit, with glue tabs, so it is never too short. Choose tall and slim, short and round or wide ears, both up, both floppy or one of each, inner ears printed in pink or as separate pieces, and a name on the band. There are also bunny outlines for crafts: a sitting bunny from the side, a sitting bunny from the front and a bunny head, in any size, as a garland or with names. Download a true-size PDF on US Letter or A4, an SVG cut file or a PNG. No sign-up, no watermark.

Print

Runs in your browser with our own code; names and pictures never leave your device, and nothing is saved. Every outline is our own drawing (plain shapes, no characters). The band is the head measurement plus the overlap, split into pieces that fit the paper with glue tabs. Print at 100% (Actual size) and check the square on the first sheet.

How to make paper bunny ears

  1. Choose Bunny ears headband (or a bunny outline), pick the head size or type the measurement.
  2. Choose the ear shape, upright or floppy, the ear height and the inner ear.
  3. Optional: type a name for the band and pick a colour or a pattern.
  4. Download the PDF and print at 100% (Actual size); measure the check square on the first sheet. There is also an SVG and a 300 DPI PNG, one per sheet.
  5. Cut out the pieces, glue the band pieces tab under tab, glue the ears behind the band and close the band at the back.

  • Easter parties, egg hunts and spring parades
  • Classroom crafts and dress-up days

Head ranges from the Craft Yarn Council head circumference chart; the presets are the middle of each range. Band length = head + 2.5 cm overlap. Band pieces are cut to fit across the sheet (the tool picks portrait or landscape, whichever needs fewer sheets) and carry a 15 mm glue tab; sheets counted with tall 4.5 in ears and the check square, worked out by the tool.

Frequently asked questions

What size headband does a child need?

Measure round the head just above the eyebrows and ears and type it in. If you cannot measure, the presets use the middle of each range in the Craft Yarn Council head chart: toddler 17 in, child 19 in, tween 21 in, woman 22 in, man 23 in.

How long is the band?

The head measurement plus the overlap at the back (2.5 cm by default, or choose 2 cm or 4 cm for room to adjust). The table on this page shows the length for each preset.

What if the band is longer than my paper?

The tool splits it into equal pieces that fit across the sheet. Every piece but the last has a 15 mm grey glue tab that goes under the next piece, marked A to A, B to B, so the pieces overlap by the width of the tab.

How do I check the print size?

The first sheet has a check square: exactly 1 in (or 2 cm with cm units) on each side when printed at 100%. Each sheet also has a 50 mm or 2 in bar at the bottom.

How do floppy ears work?

A floppy ear has a pink dashed fold line near the top: fold the tip forward along it. Choose One up, one floppy for a lopsided look.

Can I make bunny shapes without the headband?

Yes. Choose a bunny outline under Make: sitting bunny (side), sitting bunny (front), bunny head, in any size, as a nested set or a garland.

Can I cut it with a Cricut?

Yes. The SVG is true size in millimetres, with the cut, fold and mark lines on their own layers.

Can I sell things I make with these bunny ears?

The designs are our own drawings: you may use them and anything you make with them, including things you sell, with no credit needed.
