How do I convert an MP4 to a GIF?
Drop the MP4 in, choose the start point and length, set the frame rate and width, then click “Create GIF”. The GIF is made in your browser and ready to download.
Why is my GIF file so large?
GIF is an old, heavy format. Keep clips short (2–6 seconds), use 10 fps or less, and a width of 480 px or smaller for a reasonable file size.
Can I convert a long video?
Long clips are capped, because GIFs of long videos become huge. Pick the most important few seconds with the Start and Length sliders.
Does the GIF have sound?
No — GIF is an image format and can't store audio. Use the MP4 itself if you need sound.
Is my video uploaded?
No. Frames are captured and encoded in your browser, so your video never leaves your device.
