Mardi Gras Coloring Pages

Make free printable Mardi Gras coloring pages from 8 pictures we drew ourselves: a feathered mask, a mask on a stick, strands of beads with a medallion, a king cake, a jester hat with bells, a fleur-de-lis, a trumpet with music notes, and a parade float with a big crown. The pictures are our own drawings, with no people, characters, parade-group emblems, team logos or bakery brands, so the pages suit any home, table or classroom. Print one big picture on a page, a grid of four or six small pictures, a Mardi Gras parade scene, a fold-in-half card, or a carnival mandala with a new pattern at the press of a button. Blank masks to design prints 1, 2, 4 or 6 plain mask outlines per page, each with its eye holes and two tie holes, so children can draw their own pattern; one mask fills a 186 mm square on US Letter. The lettering poster spells out “Happy Mardi Gras” in hollow letters with the date worked out for any year from 2025 to 2035: Tuesday, February 9, 2027. Type a child’s name for a name page, or paste a class list to get the same picture for everyone with each name at the top. Choose simple, medium or detailed lines, never thinner than 0.5 mm. Download one multi-page PDF for US Letter or A4, a 300 DPI PNG of every page, or an SVG. No sign-up, no watermark.

The dates above match the Farmers’ Almanac table for 2027 to 2031, including the leap-day Mardi Gras on February 29, 2028.

Printing tips

  • Every page keeps a 12.7 mm (half inch) margin from the paper edge, on US Letter and A4.
  • Plain paper is fine for crayons and pencils; use thicker paper or card for markers and paint.
  • Print one page first and check it before printing a whole pack or class set.
  • Choose Detailed lines only with fine pens or sharp pencils, and Simple lines with chunky crayons.
  • For a mask to wear, print on card or glue the page to card before cutting, and thread string or elastic through the tie holes.

Frequently asked questions

Are these Mardi Gras coloring pages free?

Yes. Every page is free to make, download and print, with no sign-up and no watermark. All the pictures are our own drawings.

When is Mardi Gras 2027?

Mardi Gras 2027 is Tuesday, February 9, 2027. In 2028 it is Tuesday, February 29, 2028, a leap day. The poster can show the date for any year from 2025 to 2035.

Why does the date of Mardi Gras change every year?

Mardi Gras is 47 days before Easter Sunday, and Easter moves with the calendar rule for the spring full moon, so Mardi Gras is always a Tuesday, in February or March.

Can children design and wear their own mask?

Yes. Choose Blank masks to design and pick 1, 2, 4 or 6 per page. Each is a plain mask outline with two eye holes and two small tie holes for string or elastic. With no title, one mask fills a 186 mm square on US Letter; six fill 77 mm squares. Cut the eye holes out with adult help, or glue the mask to card first so it lasts.

Which colors are traditional for Mardi Gras?

Purple, green and gold are the traditional Mardi Gras colors, and king cakes are often iced in those three. Any colors are fine on these pages.

Which Mardi Gras pages suit toddlers and preschoolers?

Choose Simple lines: big shapes with thick outlines. The king cake and the parade float with a crown have the fewest shapes, as the table shows.

Can I make a page for every child in my class?

Yes. Choose Class set, pick a picture and paste the names, one per line, up to 40. Each child gets the same picture with their own name in hollow letters at the top, all in one PDF.

Are there Mardi Gras coloring pages for adults?

Yes. Choose Carnival mandala with Detailed lines: each pattern number gives a different symmetric design. Choose 16 repeats for the most intricate pattern.

How do I print the coloring pages?

Download the PDF and print it on plain paper. Choose 100% or Actual size to keep the margins and sizes as drawn; Fit to page also works if your printer cuts off the edges.

Is anything uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser. Names and words are not sent anywhere, and nothing is saved when you close the page.
