Frequently asked questions

How do you play New Year’s Eve bingo?

Each player gets a different card. The caller picks a calling card at random and reads it out, and players cover that picture or word. The first to complete a line wins. You could play one round each hour, with a full card as the last game before midnight.

Can I change the year?

Yes. Type it in the Year box, with your own words before it, such as Ring in or Welcome. It prints under the title on every card, and you can leave it blank.

What is Find a guest who… bingo?

A mixer game: each square is a prompt such as has a birthday in January or speaks more than one language. Guests walk round, find someone who fits and write that person’s name in the square. No caller is needed; the first to fill a line wins.

Is there a version for small children?

Yes. Our 30 pictures work with or without words. A 3 × 3 card with a free centre has 8 pictures to find, which suits toddlers and preschoolers.

Does the grown-up party list mention drinks?

It has a few, like Toast at midnight, Bubbly and Mocktail, so it is not the default. The pictures and party words have no drinks at all.

Is every card different?

Yes. Every card in a set is checked against the others. With more items than squares, each card also gets a different mix, so players do not all win at once.

What are the calling cards and the call list?

The pages after the cards hold one calling card for every item, to cut out, and a call list to tick off. Every item that can appear on a card is on both.

Can I call the game on a phone?

Yes. Press Call next: the tool picks an item at random from those not yet called and shows it large. Type a card number and press Check card to see whether it wins.

Can I print in black and white?

Yes. Choose Black and white, to colour in: the pictures print as outlines, for a quiet activity before the fireworks.

Can I use the cards at a paid event or sell them?

Yes. The designs are our own drawings: you may use them and anything you make with them, including things you sell, with no credit needed.

Are guest names or words uploaded?

No. The cards and the PDF are made in your browser and nothing is saved.
