Excel to CSV
Convert Excel to CSV online for free — turn XLSX, XLS and ODS spreadsheets into CSV (or tab-separated TSV), choose which sheet to export and the separator (comma or semicolon for European Excel). UTF-8 output keeps accents and symbols intact. Preview first; nothing is uploaded.
100% private — everything runs in your browser. Conversion happens on your device; nothing is uploaded.
Converted in your browser with SheetJS — your data never leaves your device. Excel formulas are exported as their calculated values; formatting such as colours and merged cells isn’t carried into CSV or JSON.

How do I convert XLSX to CSV?
Drop the XLSX file in, choose the sheet and separator, and click Download CSV.
Which separator should I use?
Comma is standard. If the CSV will be opened in Excel in Europe (where the comma is the decimal mark), use semicolons.
Will accents and special characters survive?
Yes — the CSV is UTF-8 with a byte-order mark so Excel opens accented and non-Latin text correctly.
Can I convert every sheet at once?
Download each sheet in turn, or use Excel to JSON with “All sheets” to export them together.
Is my data uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in your browser with the open-source SheetJS library, so spreadsheets with customer or financial data stay on your device.
What about formulas and formatting?
Formulas are exported as their calculated values. Colours, fonts and merged cells aren't part of CSV or JSON, so they aren't carried over.
