Christmas Door Hanger
Make printable Christmas door hangers for every bedroom door. Pick one of 12 designs we drew ourselves, or mix them, and choose the words: Santa, please stop here, Do not disturb: wrapping presents, Elves at work and more, or type your own. Turn on the back and it carries its own message, so on Christmas morning the hanger flips over to Santa has been! Paste a list of names to get one hanger each with the name printed, or leave a line to write on. Hangers print true size, two to a US Letter or A4 sheet at 3.5 × 8.5 in, with the hole, a slot and thin cut lines. There is a black and white version to colour in, a PNG and an SVG cut file. Free, with no sign-up and no watermark.

Frequently asked questions
What size is a door hanger?
Print shops most often use 4.25 × 11 in, with 4 × 9 and 3.5 × 8.5 in as smaller sizes. A 4.25 × 11 in hanger does not fit on Letter or A4 with a margin, so the tool starts at 3.5 × 8.5 in, which fits two to a sheet.
How big is the hole?
The default is 1.75 in across with its centre 1.25 in from the top, from one print-shop template guide. The same shop’s size guide gives 1.5 in centred 1 in from the top, so both are here. Printers differ, so check yours if a shop cuts them.
How do I print it double-sided?
With a back turned on, the PDF has the fronts on page 1 and the backs on page 2, mirrored so they line up. Print both sides and flip on the long edge. Print one sheet first to check your printer lines them up.
Can I put a name on each hanger?
Yes. Type or paste the names, one per line or separated by commas, and you get one hanger for each. Wherever the words say {name}, the name goes in. With no names, that spot becomes a line to write on.
Can I write my own words?
Yes. Edit the front and back boxes. Each new line in the box is a new line on the hanger, and the text is sized to fit.
Is there a version to colour in?
Yes. Tick Black and white: the designs print as line art on white, ready for pens or crayons.
What paper should I use?
Thin card holds its shape on a door handle better than copy paper. Use your printer’s card or heavy paper setting.
How do I cut out the hole?
Cut along the grey circle with small scissors or a craft knife, then cut the slot from the hole to the edge so the hanger slips on without taking the handle off. A 1.75 in or 1.5 in circle punch also works if you have one.
Is there a file for a cutting machine?
Yes. The SVG cut file has the outlines, holes and slots for a whole sheet, at true size. One hanger die line gives a single outline for a machine or a print shop.
Can I sell the hangers I make?
Yes. The designs are our own drawings: you may use them and anything you make with them, including things you sell, with no credit needed.
Are the names uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser, names are not sent anywhere, and nothing is saved when you close the page.
