Frequently asked questions

How do I make a bar graph?

Paste a table with categories in the first column and numbers in the next columns, then choose the bar style. Each column becomes a coloured series.

What's the difference between a bar graph and a stacked bar graph?

A normal bar graph puts each series side by side for comparison; a stacked bar graph piles them up to show the total and each part of it.

When should I use horizontal bars?

Horizontal bars suit long category names and rankings — the labels stay readable without rotating.

Can I start the axis above zero?

Untick Start axis at 0. Be careful: bar lengths then exaggerate differences, so zero is usually best for bars.

Can I paste data from Excel or Google Sheets?

Yes. Select the cells (including the header row), copy, and paste into the data box — the columns are detected automatically. You can also import a .csv file.

Is my data uploaded?

No. The chart is drawn in your browser and your numbers never leave your device.
