Bee Template

Print a bee template for free. You get a bee seen from above: a round body with stripes and a stinger, a head with two antennae and two wings, as pieces to cut from yellow, black and white card, or the whole bee as one piece. Choose 2, 3 or 4 stripes. Add a honeycomb board of 7 or 19 joined hexagon cells to write numbers, letters or words in, or loose hexagon cells to cut out and fit together, with the cell size chosen. Set the height from 2 in to a full page, or a poster up to 36 in tiled over several sheets, and fill the sheet for a class set. Print the outline to colour, or a yellow and black version. A check square shows the print is true size. Download a PDF on US Letter or A4, an SVG cut file or a PNG. No sign-up, no watermark.

Frequently asked questions

What pieces are there?

The body with its stripes and stinger, the head with two antennae, and two wings. Or choose “Whole bee” for one outline with everything joined.

What is the honeycomb board?

7 or 19 hexagon cells joined into one piece, with the cell walls drawn in. Write a number, letter or word in each cell, or use it as a hive for the bee.

How big are the hexagon cells?

You choose 1, 1 1/2, 2 or 3 in across the flat sides. The table on this page shows the board sizes and how many loose cells fit on a sheet.

Can I change the stripes?

Yes: 2, 3 or 4 black stripes. They stay inside the body, and the colour version fills them black.

What sizes can I print?

From 2 in tall up to a full page on US Letter, and posters up to 36 in tiled over several sheets. The tables on this page show the width and how many bees fit on a sheet.

How do I check the print is the right size?

Measure the check square on the first sheet: it must be exactly 1 in (or 2 cm with cm units) on each side. If it is smaller, print again at 100% or Actual size, not Fit to page.

Can I use it with a Cricut or Silhouette?

Yes. Download the SVG: it is true size in millimetres, with the cut lines on their own layer.

Can I sell things I make with this bee?

The designs are our own drawings: you may use them and anything you make with them, including things you sell, with no credit needed.
