Worksheet Maker

Make a printable worksheet from blocks you stack in any order. Choose from 9 kinds of block: instructions, fill in the blanks from your own text, matching with the right-hand column shuffled, multiple choice with the options shuffled, true or false, questions with answer lines, writing lines, a word bank and a picture box for drawing or for your own picture. Mark the words to blank out with square brackets, the right option with a star, and the page does the rest: it numbers the sections, lays them out over as many pages as needed and adds an answer key at the end, made from the same shuffled order that prints. Press Shuffle again for a second version of the same worksheet. Download a PDF on US Letter or A4 with a name and date line. Free, with no sign-up and nothing printed on the sheet but your content, and your text never leaves your browser.

Frequently asked questions

What is a worksheet maker?

A tool that turns your own questions and text into a printable sheet. This one builds the sheet from blocks, such as fill in the blanks or matching, and adds an answer key.

How do I blank out words?

In a Fill in the blanks block, put square brackets around each word or phrase to hide, like The [sun] is a star. Each one prints as a numbered line, and the answers go into the key in order. Tick Word bank to print the hidden words, shuffled, above the text.

How does matching work?

Write one pair per line as left = right. The left column keeps your order and is numbered; the right column is shuffled and lettered, and never left in your original order. Students draw a line between the dots.

How do I write multiple choice questions?

The question on one line, then each option on its own line, with a * in front of the right one. Leave an empty line between questions. Options are shuffled unless you untick Shuffle the options.

Does the answer key match the shuffled sheet?

Yes. The key is made from the same shuffled order that prints, and it changes with it when you press Shuffle again. The tool checks this on every build of the page.

How is the shuffling done?

With your browser’s secure random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues), drawn without bias. Nothing is shuffled again while you type elsewhere, so the sheet you check is the sheet you print.

Can I add a picture?

Yes. Add a Picture box and choose a picture file; it is fitted inside the box. Leave it empty for a box to draw in. Pictures are read in your browser and never uploaded.

Can I make two versions of the same test?

Yes. Download the PDF, press Shuffle again and download it again: matching, multiple choice and word bank orders change, and each PDF has its own answer key.

Can I use the worksheets in class or sell them?

Yes. You may use what you make here, including commercially, with no credit needed.

Is my text uploaded?

No. The worksheet and the PDF are made in your browser, and nothing is saved.
