Edit PDF

Edit PDFs online for free — add text anywhere, white out mistakes, place images and logos, and draw boxes to highlight, on any page. Your edits are saved into the original PDF as real, selectable text. No sign-up, no watermark, 100% in your browser.

100% private — your PDF never leaves your browser. Conversion happens on your device; nothing is uploaded.

100% private — runs in your browser

Edits are added on top of the page and saved into the original PDF — new text is real, selectable text, and everything else in the file stays as it was. White-out hides content visually; to remove sensitive content permanently, use Redact PDF. Your PDF never leaves your device.

Frequently asked questions

How do I add text to a PDF?

Choose “Add text”, click where you want it on the page and type. Drag it into place, and pick the font, size and colour in the toolbar.

Can I edit the existing text in a PDF?

PDFs don't store text like a word processor, so existing text can't be retyped in place. Cover it with White-out and type the new text on top — the result looks like an edit.

Is the text I add searchable?

Yes. Added text is saved as real PDF text, so it can be selected, searched and copied.

Does white-out remove the text underneath?

No — it hides it visually, but the original text is still in the file. To remove sensitive information permanently, use Redact PDF.

Which languages can I type?

Most scripts work, including accented Latin, Greek and Cyrillic (a Unicode font is added automatically). Chinese, Japanese and Korean aren't supported yet.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. Editing and saving happen in your browser, so your document never leaves your device.
