Frequently asked questions

What size should my source image be?

1024 × 1024 pixels, ideally a PNG. Larger is fine; smaller images will be upscaled and look soft at the App Store size.

Why does my iOS icon have a background?

Apple rejects app icons with transparency, so iOS icons are flattened onto your background colour. iOS adds the rounded corners itself — don't round them in your artwork.

How do I use the iOS icons?

Replace the AppIcon.appiconset folder in your Xcode project's Assets.xcassets with the one from the ZIP.

What is the maskable icon?

Android may crop PWA icons into circles or squircles. The maskable icon adds safe padding so nothing important is cut off.

Is my artwork uploaded?

No. Icons are generated in your browser.
