Print a tree template for free. Choose a rounded leafy tree, a pine, a palm with coconuts, a bare-branch tree to decorate with fingerprints or paper leaves, or a leafy tree in two pieces (a crown and a trunk) to cut from different colours. Add apples to the leafy tree, and up to 60 leaf pieces in five shapes to cut out and glue on the branches. Set the height from 2 in to a full page, or a wall tree up to 60 in tiled over several sheets, and fill the sheet with small trees for a class set. Type names to print one on each tree. Print the outline to colour, or a colour version with a green or fall crown. The trees are our own drawings of general tree shapes. A check square shows the print is true size. How to print a tree template
- Choose the tree and the height.
- Optional: apples, leaf pieces, names, the colour version or “Fill the sheet”.
- Download the PDF and print at 100% (Actual size); measure the check square. There is also an SVG (true size, for Cricut, Silhouette or laser cutters) and a 300 DPI PNG, one per sheet.
- Cut out the tree and decorate it.

What trees are there?
Five: a rounded leafy tree, a pine (evergreen), a palm with coconuts, a bare-branch tree with eight branch tips, and a leafy tree in two pieces, a crown and a trunk. They are our own drawings of general tree shapes.
How do I make a fingerprint tree?
Print the bare-branch tree, dip a fingertip in paint and press leaves along the branches. In fall use reds, oranges and yellows; in spring use pink and white blossom.
Can I print leaves to glue on?
Yes: set the number of leaf pieces (0 to 60). They come in five shapes and are a tenth of the tree height long (at least 2 cm), so a 7 in tree gets 2 cm leaves; 20 leaves and the tree fit on 1 Letter sheets.
How big can the tree be?
Up to a full page on one sheet (every tree up to 7 in tall fits one Letter or A4 sheet), and wall trees up to 60 in tiled over several sheets: a 36 in tree takes 20 Letter sheets.
Is there a Christmas tree?

How do I check the print is the right size?
Measure the check square on the first sheet: it must be exactly 1 in (or 2 cm with cm units) on each side. If it is smaller, print again at 100% or Actual size, not Fit to page.
Can I use it with a Cricut or Silhouette?
Yes. Download the SVG: it is true size in millimetres, with the cut lines on their own layer.
Can I sell things I make with these trees?
The designs are our own drawings: you may use them and anything you make with them, including things you sell, with no credit needed.
