Memorial Day Coloring Pages
Make free printable Memorial Day coloring pages from 11 pictures we drew ourselves: a flag at half-staff, a poppy, a bunch of poppies, a folded flag in a case, a wreath with a bow, a field of small flags, a dove with an olive branch, a remembrance candle, a US flag, a bald eagle and a big star. The set is quiet and respectful: there are no soldiers, weapons, helmets, insignia, unit or branch emblems, and no cartoon characters. The US flag has all 50 stars and 13 stripes, drawn to the proportions in Executive Order 10834. Print one big picture on a page, a grid of four or six small pictures, a Memorial Day scene with the flag at half-staff, a wreath and rows of small flags, a fold-in-half card, or a poppy and star mandala with a new pattern at the press of a button. The lettering poster spells out “Memorial Day” and the year in hollow letters to color, with the date worked out as the last Monday in May for any year from 2025 to 2035: Monday, May 31, 2027. Type a child’s name for a name page, change the words above it to “In honor of” and type the name of someone your family remembers, or paste a class list to get the same picture for everyone with each child’s name at the top. Choose simple, medium or detailed lines, never thinner than 0.5 mm. Download one multi-page PDF for US Letter or A4, a 300 DPI PNG of every page, or an SVG. No sign-up, no watermark.
100% private — everything runs in your browser. Names stay in your browser; the PDF, PNG and SVG are made on your device.

- Pick the picture, or tick the ones you want for a grid or pack.
- Choose the lines: simple for little ones, medium, or detailed for older children and adults.
- Add a title at the top, set the poster words and year, type a name for the name page, or paste your class list, and pick the lettering.
- Choose US Letter or A4 and download the PDF, or a PNG of every page.

The 11 Memorial Day pictures
| Picture | Shapes to color: simple | Medium | Detailed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flag at half-staff | 67 | 69 | 75 |
| Poppy | 5 | 15 | 21 |
| Bunch of poppies | 11 | 40 | 47 |
| Folded flag in a case | 7 | 9 | 16 |
| Wreath with a bow | 23 | 39 | 67 |
| Field of small flags | 22 | 50 | 68 |
| Dove with an olive branch | 8 | 13 | 19 |
| Remembrance candle | 4 | 7 | 20 |
| US flag (50 stars, 13 stripes) | 66 | 68 | 72 |
| Bald eagle | 4 | 10 | 17 |
| Big star | 2 | 7 | 13 |
Shapes are the closed outlines the tool draws for each picture at each level, counted by the tool. The flag counts every stripe, the blue union and all 50 stars. The small flags in the field of flags are simplified, with a union and a few stripes, so little hands can color them.
Simple to detailed lines
| Lines | Outlines | Small details | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Simple | 1.8 mm | 1.4 mm | Toddlers, chunky crayons, big markers |
| Medium | 1.1 mm | 0.8 mm | Most children, colored pencils |
| Detailed | 0.75 mm | 0.5 mm | Older children and adults, fine pens and pencils |
Line widths are measured at print size. The thinnest line on any page is 0.5 mm, and the flag’s 50 stars always use the small-details line, capped at 0.75 mm, so each star stays open to color.

Memorial Day is the last Monday in May (5 U.S.C. §6103). The tool works out each date; for 2027 it matches the federal holiday list of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. The flag flies at half-staff until noon, then is raised to the top of the staff (4 U.S.C. §7(m)), and the National Moment of Remembrance is the minute starting at 3:00 p.m. local time (Public Law 106-579).
Printing tips
- Every page keeps a 12.7 mm (half inch) margin from the paper edge, on US Letter and A4.
- Plain paper is fine for crayons and pencils; use thicker paper or card for markers and paint.
- Print one page first and check it before printing a whole pack or class set.
- Choose Detailed lines only with fine pens or sharp pencils, and Simple lines with chunky crayons.
- For the card, print one side only, then fold the sheet in half with the picture on the outside; the inside stays blank for a message.

When is Memorial Day in 2027?
Memorial Day is the last Monday in May, so in 2027 it falls on Monday, May 31, 2027 (U.S. Office of Personnel Management). The poster works out the date for any year from 2025 to 2035.
Why is the flag at half-staff?
On Memorial Day the flag is flown at half-staff until noon, then raised to the top of the staff (4 U.S.C. §7(m)). The half-staff picture and the scene show the morning flag.
Which pages suit toddlers and preschoolers?
Choose Simple lines: big shapes with thick outlines. The big star, the remembrance candle and the bald eagle have the fewest shapes, as the table shows. The flags have many small stars, so they suit older children best.
Can I make a page with a family member’s name?
Yes. Choose Name page, change the words above the name to “In honor of” or “We remember”, and type the name. It is drawn in large hollow letters to color, with a poppy, the flag at half-staff and a star below.
Can I make a page for every child in my class?
Yes. Choose Class set, pick a picture and paste the names, one per line, up to 40. Each child gets the same picture with their own name in hollow letters at the top, all in one PDF.
Why are there no soldiers or military emblems?
The set is made for remembering, and keeps to symbols anyone can use: flags, poppies, a wreath, a dove, a candle and stars. Unit and branch emblems are left out on purpose.
Are there Memorial Day coloring pages for adults?
Yes. Choose Poppy and star mandala with Detailed lines: each pattern number gives a different symmetric design with a ring of stars at the edge. Choose 16 repeats for the most intricate pattern.
How do I print the coloring pages?
Download the PDF and print it on plain paper. Choose 100% or Actual size to keep the margins as drawn; Fit to page also works if your printer cuts off the edges.
Is anything uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser. Names and words are not sent anywhere, and nothing is saved when you close the page.
