Video Speed Changer
Change video speed online for free — speed up videos up to 4× for timelapses and quick tutorials, or slow them down to 0.25× for slow motion. Keep voices sounding natural (pitch-preserving time-stretch), let the pitch change for a fun effect, or remove the audio. Runs privately in your browser.
100% private — everything is processed on your device, never uploaded. Conversion happens on your device; nothing is uploaded.
Everything is processed by your browser’s built-in encoders (WebCodecs) with the open-source Mediabunny library — your files are never uploaded. Works best in recent Chrome, Edge and Safari.

How do I speed up a video?
Drop the video in, choose 1.5×, 2× or faster, and click Change speed.
Will the voices sound like chipmunks?
Not by default — “keep the voice natural” time-stretches the audio so speech keeps its normal pitch. Choose “change speed and pitch” if you want the classic chipmunk or deep-voice effect.
How smooth is slow motion?
Slowing down repeats the existing frames for longer, so 0.5× works best on footage shot at 60 fps or more. Normal 30 fps footage at 0.25× will look choppy.
Why is a 4× video not 4× the frame rate?
Very fast speeds drop frames so the result plays smoothly at up to 60 fps on every device.
Is my video uploaded?
No. The video is read and encoded by your own browser using its built-in video encoders, so it never leaves your device — even large or private videos stay private.
Is there a file size limit?
There's no upload limit. The finished video is held in memory before download, so files up to a few GB work on most computers; very large files need more RAM.
Which browsers work?
Recent Chrome, Edge and Safari work best (they have hardware video encoders). Firefox 130+ works for most files.
