Snow Globe Template

Print a snow globe template for free. Choose a blank globe to draw or colour a winter scene in, a globe with your own photo printed inside it, or a photo window: the glass is cut out and a backing piece, a little bigger than the window, holds the photo behind it. Pick a classic flared base or a round low base, add pine trees, a little house, a snowman, a snowy ground line or snowflakes inside the globe, and type names to print one on each base. Choose the height, from 3 in to a full page, or a classroom poster up to 24 in tiled over several sheets, and fill the sheet with small globes for a class. Outline only to colour, or in winter colours. A check square shows the print is true size. Download a PDF on US Letter or A4, an SVG cut file or a PNG. No sign-up, no watermark.

How to print a snow globe template

  1. Choose what to make: a blank globe, your photo inside, or a photo window.
  2. Pick the base, what goes inside the globe and the height; or tick “Fill the sheet”.
  3. Optional: add your photo, type names for the bases, pick a colour or a pattern.
  4. Download the PDF and print at 100% (Actual size); measure the check square. There is also an SVG (true size, for Cricut, Silhouette or laser cutters) and a 300 DPI PNG, one per sheet.
  5. Cut out the globe (and the window and the photo backing for a photo window), then colour, glue and add snow.

Frequently asked questions

What sizes can I print?

From 1.6 in up to about 9.4 in tall on one sheet of US Letter (9.2 in on A4), and posters up to 40 in tiled over several sheets. The tables on this page show the width, the window and how many fit on a sheet.

How do I put a photo in the snow globe?

Choose “Your photo printed inside” and add a photo: it prints inside the globe, cropped to the glass. Or choose “Photo window”: the glass is cut out, and the backing piece (with your photo printed on it, or a photo glued on) goes behind it.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The photo is read by your browser and drawn on your device; nothing is sent anywhere or saved.

How do I check the print is the right size?

Measure the check square on the first sheet: it must be exactly 1 in (or 2 cm with cm units) on each side. If it is smaller, print again at 100% or Actual size, not Fit to page.

How do I make the snow?

White paint dabbed with a cotton bud, cotton wool, white paper dots from a hole punch or glitter glue all work on paper; glue them inside the globe.

What paper should I use?

Card stock holds its shape best for a standing or hanging snow globe; plain printer paper works for colouring.

Can I use it with a Cricut or Silhouette?

Yes. Download the SVG: it is true size in millimetres, with the cut lines on their own layer.

Can I sell things I make with these snow globes?

The designs are our own drawings: you may use them and anything you make with them, including things you sell, with no credit needed.
