Wedding Planning Checklist
Type your wedding date and this checklist puts a real date on every step, from 12 months out to the weeks after the wedding. Our own list has 77 tasks in 11 parts, including a day-of kit: the venue and guest list first, then the photographer, catering, music and officiant, attire, stationery, rings, the licence and the last-week details. Change the wording of any task, untick what you don’t need, add your own and tick tasks off as you go; your list stays in this browser for next time. With a short engagement, the parts whose dates have already passed move to the top under “Catch up now”. Print it on one page or one page for each part, on US Letter or A4, save a PNG, or download a calendar file with a reminder for each part.
100% private — everything runs in your browser. Your date, tasks and ticks stay in this browser; the PDF, PNG and calendar file are made on your device.

Month steps keep the same day of the month, or the last day when the month is shorter: 31 August 2027 minus six months is 28 February 2027, and in the leap year 2028 it is 29 February. Weekdays checked against the Hong Kong Observatory calendar tables for 2027 and 2028.
Short engagements
With “Catch up now” on, any part whose date is already past moves to the top as one group. For example, a wedding on 31 March 2027 planned from 8 November 2026 puts 3 parts (25 tasks: 12 months or more, 9 months, 6 months) under “Catch up now”, and the 3-month part is due on 31 December 2026.
The wedding day and the weeks after it are never marked as late.

| A4 | 210 × 297 mm | 1 page, 8 pt | 11 pages |

Frequently asked questions
When should I start planning a wedding?
Many couples start about a year ahead, which is where our list begins: the size and feel of the wedding, a budget, a first guest list and the venue. If your wedding is sooner, put in the date anyway: the parts that are already past move to the top under “Catch up now”.
What should be first on a wedding checklist?
Talk about the kind of wedding you both want, agree on a budget, draft the guest list and pick a few possible dates. The venue usually comes next, because its free dates and size shape everything after it.
How are the dates worked out?
Each part is counted back from your wedding date. “6 months before” is the same day six months earlier; when that month is shorter, it moves to the month’s last day, so a 31 August wedding gives 28 February (29 February in a leap year). Weeks are seven days and “The day before” is one day.
I have less than a year. Does the checklist still work?
Yes. Put in your date and any part whose date has passed is grouped first under “Catch up now”, so you can see what to do straight away. Untick “Catch up now” to keep the parts in their usual order.
Can I change the tasks?
Yes. Open any part to change the wording of a task, untick it, remove it or add your own. “Our list again” brings back our tasks for that part, and “Start again” resets the whole list.
Is my checklist saved?
Yes, in this browser only. Your date, tasks and ticks are kept in your browser’s storage on this device, so they are still there when you come back. Nothing is sent to us. Clearing your browser data or pressing “Start again” removes the saved list.
What is the calendar file?
An .ics file with one all-day reminder for each dated part of the list, with that part’s tasks in the notes. Most phone and computer calendars can open it.
Can I print the tasks I have already done?
Yes. Tasks marked Done print with a tick and the page shows how many are done. Untick the options under Print for a clean copy.
How is this different from a wedding timeline?
This checklist covers the months before the wedding. A wedding timeline is the schedule for the day itself, hour by hour from getting ready to the send-off.
Is my information uploaded?
No. The checklist runs in your browser, and the PDF, PNG and calendar file are made on your device.
