Turkey Template

Print a turkey template for free. Make a cut-and-glue turkey craft: a body with the head, as many feathers as you like (3 to 16), two feet, and a beak and wattle printed on the face or as pieces to cut. Each feather has lines to write what someone is thankful for, with “I am thankful for” printed on it if you like; or type the words and they print on the feathers, one per feather. Choose the body size and the tool places every piece so it fits the sheet, on US Letter or A4. Or print turkey outlines: a one-piece turkey, a handprint-style turkey, a feather or the body, from 1 in to 24 in (big ones are tiled over several sheets), as many as fit on a page. Outline only to colour, or in autumn colours. Download a true-size PDF, an SVG cut file or a PNG. No sign-up, no watermark.

How to print a turkey template

  1. Choose the turkey craft set or turkey outlines.
  2. For the craft set, choose the body size, the number of feathers and the beak and wattle (printed or separate); for outlines, choose the style and size.
  3. Optional: type the words for the feathers (one per feather), untick the writing lines, pick a colour or a pattern.
  4. Download the PDF and print at 100% (Actual size); check the 50 mm bar on each sheet. There is also an SVG (true size, for Cricut, Silhouette or laser cutters) and a 300 DPI PNG, one per sheet.
  5. Cut out the pieces, glue the feathers in a fan behind the body and the feet at the bottom.

Frequently asked questions

What sizes can I print?

For the craft set, the body piece can be 1.6 in up to about 9.3 in tall on US Letter (9 in on A4); the feathers are 0.85 times the body height long. Outlines go from half an inch to 40 inches, tiled over several sheets when they are bigger than one.

How many feathers can the turkey have?

Any number from 3 to 16. The tool adds a feather piece for each one and packs them onto the sheets with the body and feet; the table on this page shows how many sheets it takes.

How do I make thankful turkey feathers?

Leave “Writing lines” ticked: each feather prints with two lines and, if you like, the words “I am thankful for”. Or type the words, one per feather, and the tool prints them on the feathers for you.

Does every piece fit on the paper?

Yes. The tool checks that every piece fits inside the printable area of the paper and tells you if the size you chose is too big.

What is the handprint-style turkey?

A turkey drawn in the shape of a hand, with four fingers as feathers and the thumb as the head: a one-piece outline to colour or cut, with no paint needed.

What paper should I use?

Card stock holds its shape best for a turkey that stands on a table or hangs on a wall; plain printer paper works for colouring and for the feathers.

Can I use it with a Cricut or Silhouette?

Yes. Download the SVG: it is true size in millimetres, with the cut lines on their own layer.

Can I sell things I make with these turkeys?

The designs are our own drawings: you may use them and anything you make with them, including things you sell, with no credit needed.
