AI Image Upscaler

Upscale images with AI for free — enlarge photos, artwork and screenshots 2× or 4× with the ESRGAN super-resolution model, which rebuilds edges and smooths away JPEG blockiness instead of just stretching pixels. Compare before and after, then download. Runs on your device; nothing is uploaded.

100% private — your images never leave your browser. Conversion happens on your device; nothing is uploaded.

100% private — runs in your browser

Runs the open-source ESRGAN super-resolution model on your device’s graphics chip (WebGL), so your images are never uploaded. The model is a one-time download of about 1–3 MB. Results are capped at 4096 px; speed depends on your device — a phone may take a minute for large images.

How to upscale an image

  1. Drop your image here, or click to choose it.
  2. Choose 2× or 4×, and Fast or Better quality.
  3. Click “Upscale image” — the model downloads once (1–3 MB) and runs on your device.
  4. Drag the slider to compare, then download the larger image.

What you can use it for

  • Enlarge small product photos for online stores
  • Upscale old or low-resolution photos for printing
  • Make small logos and icons usable at larger sizes
  • Increase the resolution of AI-generated or web images

Frequently asked questions

How do I upscale an image without losing quality?

Use an AI upscaler. Ordinary resizing stretches pixels, so enlargements look soft and blocky; ESRGAN reconstructs edges and textures, giving cleaner results — the difference is biggest at 4× on small images. Drop your image in, pick 2× or 4× and click Upscale.

What's the difference between 2× and 4×?

2× doubles the width and height (4 times the pixels); 4× quadruples them (16 times the pixels). 4× takes longer and works best on small images.

Is there a size limit?

Results are capped at 4096 px on the long side so your browser doesn't run out of memory. Larger images are reduced first.

Why is it slow on my phone?

The AI model runs on your own device's graphics chip. Laptops and desktops are fastest; phones can take a minute for large images. Try the Fast model or 2×.

Can it fix blurry or out-of-focus photos?

No upscaler can invent detail that was never captured. It gives cleaner, crisper enlargements, but a badly blurred photo stays blurry. For mild softness, also try Sharpen Image.

Are my images uploaded?

No. The model runs in your browser, so your images never leave your device.
