QR Code Scanner
Scan QR codes online for free — use your phone or laptop camera, or upload, drag or paste an image or screenshot. Links, Wi-Fi details, contacts, email, phone numbers and locations are decoded and shown clearly, and links are never opened automatically. Runs on your device.
100% private — everything runs in your browser. Conversion happens on your device; nothing is uploaded.
Scanning happens on your device with the open-source ZXing and jsQR libraries — camera frames and images are never uploaded. Links are shown with their website name and never opened automatically: check a link before you visit it. The camera needs your permission and works best in good light.

How do I scan a QR code from an image?
Drag the image into the box, click to choose it, or copy a screenshot and press Ctrl+V (⌘+V on Mac). The code is found and decoded instantly.
How do I scan a QR code on my laptop?
Click Scan with camera, allow access to your webcam and hold the QR code up to it. Use an image instead if your laptop has no camera.
Is it safe to scan QR codes?
Scanning is safe; visiting the link is where the risk is. This scanner never opens links automatically — it shows the website's name so you can check it first. Be wary of QR codes stuck on parking meters, posters or in unexpected emails.
Can it read Wi-Fi QR codes?
Yes. The network name, password and security type are shown so you can join from any device.
Why can't it find my QR code?
Make sure the whole code is visible, in focus and not too small, with good light and no glare. Cropping the image closer to the code helps.
Is anything uploaded?
No. Camera frames and images are processed on your device with the open-source ZXing and jsQR libraries.
