Santa Coloring Pages
Make free printable Santa coloring pages from 13 pictures we drew ourselves: Santa waving, a big Santa face, Santa with his sack of gifts, Santa in his sleigh, Santa in the chimney, Santa checking his list, a sleigh across the moon, Santa’s hat, his boots, cookies and milk left out for him, a mailbox for letters to Santa, his workshop and a sack of toys. Santa is drawn as a folk figure in our own style, with no film, advert or brand look and no named reindeer, so the pages suit any home, party or classroom. Print one big picture on a page, a grid of four or six small pictures, Santa’s sleigh over a snowy town, a fold-in-half card, or a Santa hat mandala with a new pattern at the press of a button. Blank Santas to finish prints 1, 2, 4 or 6 Santa outlines with no face, so children can draw his eyes and smile; one fills a 186 mm square on US Letter. Type a child’s name for a name page, or paste a class list to get the same Santa for everyone with each name at the top. Choose simple, medium or detailed lines, never thinner than 0.5 mm. Download one multi-page PDF for US Letter or A4, a 300 DPI PNG of every page, or an SVG. No sign-up, no watermark.

Santa in pictures: where the look comes from
| When | What (Library of Congress) |
|---|---|
| December 23, 1823 | “A Visit from St. Nicholas” was “first published anonymously in the Troy (New York) Sentinel newspaper”; the poem never calls him Santa and does not say his fur outfit is red |
| January 1, 1881 | Thomas Nast’s “Merry Old Santa Claus” first appeared in Harper’s Weekly; the Library of Congress credits Nast’s Santa drawings with “his red coat, his pipe, his workshop, and even his North Pole location” |
Red is the usual color for the coat and hat, with white fur trim, a black belt and black boots, but there is no wrong color: a green or blue Santa is fine.
Blank Santas to finish
| Santas per page | Each fits (US Letter) | Each fits (A4) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 186 mm square | 181 mm square |
| 2 | 120 mm square | 129 mm square |
| 4 | 89 mm square | 86 mm square |
| 6 | 77 mm square | 83 mm square |
Sizes are for the page with No title chosen; a title at the top makes them a little smaller. Each blank outline is the waving Santa with no eyes (21 shapes), so the design is up to you.
Simple to detailed lines
| Lines | Outlines | Small details | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Simple | 1.8 mm | 1.4 mm | Toddlers, chunky crayons, big markers |
| Medium | 1.1 mm | 0.8 mm | Most children, colored pencils |
| Detailed | 0.75 mm | 0.5 mm | Older children and adults, fine pens and pencils |
Line widths are measured at print size. The thinnest line on any page is 0.5 mm, so every shape stays open to color.

Frequently asked questions
Are these Santa coloring pages free?
Yes. Every page is free to make, download and print, with no sign-up and no watermark. All the pictures are our own drawings.
Which Santa pictures are there?
13: Santa waving, Santa face, Santa with his sack of gifts, Santa in his sleigh, Santa in the chimney, Santa hat, Santa boots, cookies and milk for Santa, Santa checking his list, mailbox for letters to Santa, sleigh across the moon, Santa workshop, sack of toys. On top of those there is a town scene, blank Santas, a mandala, a lettering poster and name pages.
Is this Santa from a film or an advert?
No. Santa is a folk figure, and ours is our own drawing: a round face, a white beard, a hat with a bobble, a coat with a belt and big boots. No film, cartoon, advert or brand Santa is copied, and no reindeer are named.
Where does Santa’s look come from?
The Library of Congress credits the cartoonist Thomas Nast, whose Santa drawings ran in Harper’s Weekly, with “his red coat, his pipe, his workshop, and even his North Pole location”. The poem “A Visit from St. Nicholas”, first printed in 1823, never calls him Santa and never says his fur outfit is red. Our Santa has no pipe.
Can children finish Santa themselves?
Yes. Choose Blank Santas to finish and pick 1, 2, 4 or 6 per page. Each is the waving Santa with no eyes, ready for a face of their own. With no title, one fills a 186 mm square on US Letter; six fill 77 mm squares.
Which Santa pages suit toddlers and preschoolers?
Choose Simple lines: big shapes with thick outlines. The cookies and milk for Santa and the Santa hat have the fewest shapes, as the table shows.
Can I make a page for every child in my class?
Yes. Choose Class set, pick a picture and paste the names, one per line, up to 40. Each child gets the same picture with their own name in hollow letters at the top, all in one PDF.
Are there Santa coloring pages for adults?
Yes. Choose Santa hat mandala with Detailed lines: each pattern number gives a different symmetric design. Choose 16 repeats for the most intricate pattern.
Can I sell what I make with these pages?
Yes. The pictures are our own drawings, and the note under the tool sets out how you may use them, including for things you sell.
How do I print the coloring pages?
Download the PDF and print it on plain paper. Choose 100% or Actual size to keep the margins and sizes as drawn; Fit to page also works if your printer cuts off the edges.
Is anything uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser. Names and words are not sent anywhere, and nothing is saved when you close the page.
