Santa Template

Print a Santa template for free and make Santa five ways. Print his face in one piece (hat, pompom, beard and face) to colour and cut; print it in 11 pieces to cut from coloured card or felt (a hat, a brim, a pompom, a face, a beard, a mustache, a nose, two eyes and two cheeks); print the cotton-ball version, with dotted circles on the beard, the brim and the pompom showing where the cotton goes; print just the beard and mustache; or print a whole Santa standing in his coat, belt and boots. Set the height from 2 in to a full page (8 in on one sheet), or a door-sized Santa up to 36 in tiled over several sheets, and fill the sheet with small Santas for a class. Type names to print one on each Santa. Print the outline to colour, or a colour version with a red or a green suit. Santa here is our own drawing of the traditional folk figure. A check square shows the print is true size. Download a PDF on US Letter or A4, an SVG cut file or a PNG. No sign-up, no watermark.

How to print a Santa template

  1. Choose what to make: the face in one piece, the face in pieces, the cotton-ball face, the beard only or a whole Santa.
  2. Choose the height and the units.
  3. Optional: names, the colour version (red or green suit) or “Fill the sheet”.
  4. Download the PDF and print at 100% (Actual size); measure the check square. There is also an SVG (true size, for Cricut, Silhouette or laser cutters) and a 300 DPI PNG, one per sheet.
  5. Cut out the pieces and put Santa together, or glue on the cotton balls.

What you can use it for

  • Cotton-ball Santa beards for preschool and kindergarten
  • Paper-plate Santa faces (glue the pieces on a plate)
  • Christmas door and bulletin-board decorations
  • Santa cards and gift tags (small sizes, fill the sheet)
  • Felt Santa ornaments (trace the pieces)
  • Cutting practice with the dashed outline

Frequently asked questions

What can I make with it?

Five things: a Santa face in one piece, a Santa face in 11 pieces to glue together, a cotton-ball Santa with dots where the cotton goes, the beard and mustache only, or a whole standing Santa in one piece.

What pieces are in the Santa face?

Eleven: a hat, a hat brim, a pompom, the face, the beard, a mustache, a nose, two eyes and two cheeks. The table on this page lists the size of each piece on a 6 in Santa.

How do I make a cotton-ball Santa?

Print the cotton-ball version, cut it out and glue cotton balls over the dotted circles on the beard, the brim and the pompom (a 6 in Santa has 52 dots). Pull each cotton ball apart a little so the beard looks fluffy.

What sizes can I print?

Santas from 2 in tall up to 8 in on one US Letter or A4 sheet, and big Santas up to 36 in tiled over several sheets. The table on this page shows the widths and how many fit on a sheet.

Is this a particular brand’s Santa?

No. Santa is a traditional folk figure, and this one is our own drawing: a red or green suit, white beard and fur trim, with no brand styling.

How do I check the print is the right size?

Measure the check square on the first sheet: it must be exactly 1 in (or 2 cm with cm units) on each side. If it is smaller, print again at 100% or Actual size, not Fit to page.

Can I use it with a Cricut or Silhouette?

Yes. Download the SVG: it is true size in millimetres, with the cut lines on their own layer.

Can I sell things I make with this Santa?

The designs are our own drawings: you may use them and anything you make with them, including things you sell, with no credit needed.
