The focus shot

Magic Mind made a tiny bottle the whole idea.

Magic Mind is a lesson in a format as a brand. Founded around 2020 in Venice, California by James Beshara (who earlier founded Crowdtilt, acquired by Airbnb), it makes a small ~2oz functional “shot” built on matcha, nootropics (lion’s mane, Bacopa, Cognizin) and adaptogens (rhodiola, ashwagandha), marketed for focus and mental clarity — “the world’s first mental performance shots.”

The design centres on that small 2oz shot bottle, in a premium-wellness palette of matcha green with gold and cream — clean, modern and minimal. The format itself (a quick daily shot, sold by subscription) is the brand’s signature.

(Honest notes: Magic Mind is independent and founder-led (under Beshara’s “10,000 Inc.”), sold subscription-first and known for aggressive affiliate/influencer/podcast marketing (“first bottle for $1”). Its “mental performance,” focus and absorption claims are marketing/structure-function claims, not FDA-evaluated. There’s also an evening “Sleep” shot. No official brand hex is published.)

Colour

Magic Mind lives in matcha green and gold. Click a swatch to copy the hex.

Magic Mind’s identity is green, gold and premium — a matcha green, a gold, a sage, a cream, and an ink. The palette is matcha green with gold and cream — the register of premium wellness. It signals a focused, elevated functional product rather than a loud energy drink. The honest caveat: with no published brand hex, these tones are an original, unofficial interpretation, not first-party values.

The lesson is green and gold read as premium wellness. Magic Mind’s world is a matcha ritual. For designers, it is a reminder that a green-and-gold palette on a small, distinctive format (the shot) can make a functional product feel premium and focused — the calm opposite of a loud energy can. The takeaways: pair matcha green with gold for premium wellness; let a distinctive format lead; and treat any single hex as unofficial — using a deep green for small text so the gold stays premium.

Typography

The wordmark spirit is a clean modern sans — premium and focused.

Magic Mind’s identity carries a clean, premium, focused spirit — a small shot in green and gold. A clean modern sans captures the mood: it is precise and elevated, the register of a premium functional-wellness product. Set against matcha green and gold, the clean sans feels premium and focused — exactly the shot personality Magic Mind carries. It is precise rather than loud, mirroring a minimal premium bottle. (Magic Mind’s real bottle and wordmark are trademarks and trade dress we describe but do not reproduce, and the exact typeface is not published, so we don’t assert it.) Because the specific mark is not ours to use, the honest description is “a clean modern sans spirit,” not the Magic Mind logo. The type behaves like the brand: clean, premium and focused.

Format as the differentiator

Magic Mind stands for the focus shot.

Magic Mind is a lesson in owning a format. A tiny 2oz shot, a green-and-gold premium palette and a focus/nootropic concept combine into a distinctive daily ritual — the format is the brand. The small-shot format is the differentiator. The differentiator is a premium, format-led functional identity.

For designers and brand-builders, Magic Mind offers a clear takeaway: a distinctive format can be the identity. The lessons: let a format (the shot) define the brand; use a premium palette (green + gold) to elevate it; and back it with a clear concept (focus). It is also a reminder to stay accurate: Magic Mind is founder-led (James Beshara), subscription-first with aggressive affiliate marketing, and its performance claims are marketing rather than FDA-evaluated — with the palette here an unofficial interpretation. Magic Mind owned the shot — proof that a format can be the difference.

Editorial reference. This article reports publicly documented facts about Magic Mind’s visual identity; it is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Magic Mind. The Magic Mind name, bottle and wordmark are trademarks and trade dress of their respective owners — the graphics here are original abstract homages (colour discs and swatches), not Magic Mind assets, and no bottle or wordmark is reproduced. Facts reported from public sources (magicmind.com): Magic Mind is a functional focus/productivity “shot” founded around 2020 in Venice, California by James Beshara (under his 10,000 Inc.), a ~2oz shot built on matcha, nootropics (lion’s mane, Bacopa, Cognizin) and adaptogens (rhodiola, ashwagandha), marketed as “the world’s first mental performance shots,” with a premium matcha-green-and-gold design and SKUs Free, Original, MAXX and an evening Sleep. Honest notes: it is independent and founder-led, sold subscription-first and known for aggressive affiliate/influencer/podcast marketing (“first bottle for $1”); its “mental performance” and absorption claims are marketing/structure-function claims, not FDA-evaluated; and no official brand hex is published, so colours are an unofficial interpretation.
