The Made Good Design Collective
A curated network of independent studios and specialists, matched to your brief.
Most design work today happens in two places. Inside large agencies, where overhead inflates rates and senior designers rarely touch the work. Or with individual freelancers, where talent is sharp but capacity is shallow and accountability is thin.
The Made Good Design Collective sits between the two. We are a curated network of independent design studios and senior specialists across brand identity, reports and publications, presentation design, sustainability reporting, and design systems. When you bring us a brief, we match it to the studio in our network whose craft, sector experience, and current capacity fit it best.
How the Collective works
Our process is built for corporate communications, marketing, and investor relations teams who need senior design execution without the long agency procurement cycle.
- Brief. You share the project — scope, deadline, framework or brand requirements, audience. A short discovery call confirms the fit and surfaces anything we need to clarify before quoting.
- Match. We propose the studio in our network best suited to the work. You see the lead designer’s prior portfolio (subject to NDAs) and a fixed scope and quote within two business days.
- Deliver. The studio executes the project under the Made Good engagement, with us managing scope, milestones, and review cycles. You work with the designer directly; we handle the operational layer.
- Iterate. Most clients return for follow-on work — annual report cycles, brand extensions, retainer arrangements. The Collective grows with you rather than restarting from cold each engagement.
Who is in the Collective
Our partners are independent studios and senior practitioners who have spent ten years or more inside top-tier agencies and now operate on their own terms. Many have led design at named institutions, listed companies, and global brands — engagements they cannot publicly attach their names to, which is exactly why an intermediary like the Collective exists.
We are deliberate about who we accept. New partners are admitted on the strength of portfolio depth, sector experience, and a track record of delivering against tight reporting cycles. We do not list the network publicly. Specific partner introductions happen at the brief stage, where you see the relevant work and meet the lead designer before committing.
Disciplines we cover
- Sustainability and ESG report design — GRI, SASB, TCFD, IFRS S1/S2, SGX climate disclosure, EU CSRD/ESRS
- Annual report design — narrative reports, summary reports, integrated reports, IR microsites
- Corporate presentation design — investor decks, board packs, town halls, sales enablement, conference keynotes
- Brand identity and rebrands — logo systems, brand guidelines, visual identity rollouts
- Design systems and digital product — component libraries, marketing site design, microsites
- Editorial and information design — research reports, white papers, infographics, data storytelling
Why this model
A traditional agency sells you a fixed team and a fixed price; you get the people they have, on the terms their overhead requires. A freelancer sells you their hours; you get one perspective and one capacity ceiling.
The Collective sells you a match. The studio you work with on a sustainability report is not the same one you would work with on a rebrand or an investor deck — and that is the point. Each project goes to the practitioner whose craft is closest to it. Our role is the editorial layer: matching, scoping, managing, and standing behind the work.
This model also lets us hold a higher quality bar than any single agency could. We are not trying to keep a fixed team of twenty designers utilised. We are trying to make sure each project lands in the right pair of hands.
Confidentiality and NDAs
Most of our partners’ work is delivered under client non-disclosure agreements, particularly for listed companies, institutional clients, and pre-announcement projects. We respect those agreements absolutely. Case studies on this site are anonymised by industry and role unless a client has given explicit publication permission. Reference work for prospective clients is shared privately under mutual NDA at the brief stage.
