Bennett Winch Brand Guidelines
The holdall specialist.

Two constants: a field-olive palette and a field sans register. Abstract homage — not a Bennett Winch design or wordmark.
The holdall specialist
Bennett Winch built a house on one clever object — a suit carrier and weekend holdall in one — made in England.
Bennett Winch is a lesson in one clever object done well. A London house founded in 2014 by two friends, it made its name on a single idea: a bag that is both a suit carrier and a weekend holdall, wrapping a suit around the outside of the bag so it travels crease-free. Its answer to the specialist’s question is that clever object — refined, British, and obsessively perfected. A holdall, made to solve one problem exactly.
Its identity is the holdall specialist. Bennett Winch’s suit-carrier holdall, its British canvas and its made-in-England craft are the work it is known for. A problem, made a signature. A house whose hero product is a single, well-solved idea.
(Honest notes, so the story stays precise. Bennett Winch was founded in 2014 by Robin Bennett and Robin Winch, who run it independently from a London studio in Farringdon. It is made in England, at a factory in Carlisle, in British cotton canvas woven at Lancashire mills, with solid brass hardware welded in London. One material point of accuracy: its leather is premium Italian vegetable-tanned leather, not English bridle, so we describe it as British canvas and English craft with Italian leather trim. It should not be confused with the unrelated fashion label L.K. Bennett. Its signature design is its IP, described but never reproduced, and there is no official brand hex; these tones are an unofficial interpretation. This is design commentary and does not promote any product.)
Colour
Bennett Winch lives in a field-olive palette. Click a swatch to copy the hex.
Bennett Winch’s identity is refined, British and functional — a field olive, an ink, a sand canvas, a leather tan, and a chalk. The palette leans field olive and sand: the register of a refined British field bag in canvas and leather. It signals function and craft over show. The honest caveat: with no published brand hex, these values are an original, unofficial interpretation, not first-party colours.
The lesson is a field-olive palette signals a refined, functional identity. Bennett Winch’s world is a canvas-and-leather, made-in-England, problem-solving object. For designers, it is a reminder that a field olive and a sand canvas can carry a brand built on one clever idea — the olive of a travel bag and the sand of a British canvas. Because these tones can fail as small text, keep type dark and let the colour live in the accents, palette and band. The takeaways: solve one problem well; make it at home; be honest about the leather; and treat any single hex as unofficial.
Typography
The register is a field sans — clean, functional, understated.
Bennett Winch’s identity carries a clean, functional, understated spirit — a considered object, not a loud one. A field sans captures the mood: even, practical and quiet, the register of a refined British bag maker. Set in a field-olive palette, the field sans feels clean and functional — exactly the personality Bennett Winch carries. It is understated rather than showy, mirroring a bag whose cleverness is hidden in its function. (Bennett Winch’s real designs are things we describe but do not reproduce, and the exact typeface is not ours to use.) Because it is not ours to use, the honest description is “a field-sans spirit,” shown here in a stand-in. The type behaves like the maker: clean, functional and understated.

The specialist
Bennett Winch stands for the holdall specialist.
Bennett Winch is a lesson in perfecting one clever object. A field-olive palette, a field sans and a suit-carrier holdall make one well-solved problem the whole maker — refined, British and functional. The specialty is the differentiator. The differentiator is focus on a single idea: a bag that does two jobs at once, worked on until it is right, rather than a broad range done adequately.
Put to work, the identity is specialisation as design. A maker building in this spirit would pick one real problem, solve it better than anyone, and let that hero object carry the house, so the customer buys the definitive answer to a specific need. It would keep the making at home and be honest about where each material comes from. It would resist diluting the idea into a catalogue. The lesson Bennett Winch teaches is that a clever object can build a brand: the focus gives it clarity, and the English making gives it substance. The specialty is the personality, and the solved problem is the proof.
For designers and brand-builders, Bennett Winch belongs to this round about the specialist: solve one problem so well it becomes the brand. The lessons: focus on one idea; make it at home; be honest about materials; and never reproduce a protected design. It is also a reminder to stay precise: Bennett Winch is an independent London house founded in 2014, made in England from British canvas and Italian leather — with the palette here an unofficial interpretation. Bennett Winch made the holdall the maker — proof that one clever object can be the difference.
