Boldr Brand Guidelines

Two constants: an adventure palette and an adventure sans register. Abstract homage — not the Boldr dials or wordmark.
The adventure watch
Boldr builds lightweight tool watches for the outdoors.
Boldr is a lesson in adventure-tool design as the identity. A Singapore microbrand — BOLDR Supply Co. — founded in 2015, it makes lightweight, lume-heavy field and dive watches built for the outdoors.
Its identity is the adventure watch. Boldr’s Odyssey divers and Venture titanium field watches are the pieces it is known for — bold colour, strong lume, titanium and bronze, at accessible value. Tools for the trail. Rugged, but designed.
(Honest notes: Boldr — BOLDR Supply Co., a name we use in full to avoid confusion — is an adventure and tool-watch microbrand founded in 2015 in Singapore by Leon Leong, with a Kickstarter origin. Its signature is the adventure watch: collections like the Odyssey (dive), the much-praised Venture (titanium field), the rugged Expedition and the Safari, positioned as lightweight, lume-heavy value pieces in titanium and bronze. On the movement, it is mixed and honest: mostly Japanese Seiko/TMI (NH35A, NH38A, VK64 meca-quartz) and Miyota, with some Swiss (Sellita, Valjoux) — designed in Singapore and assembled in Asia, not in-house. It is independent and founder-led, with a conservation and charity ethos. One caution: its Merlion editions reference a Singapore cultural mark, which we describe but don’t reproduce. There’s no official brand hex, and we reproduce no dial or logo — these tones are an unofficial interpretation. This is design commentary and does not promote any product.)
Colour
Boldr lives in an adventure palette. Click a swatch to copy the hex.
Boldr’s identity is rugged, bold and outdoors — an adventure orange, an ink, a field green, a titanium, and a sand. The palette leans adventure — the register of expedition kit, lume and lightweight metal. It signals capability and value rather than novelty. The honest caveat: with no published brand hex, these tones are an original, unofficial interpretation, not first-party values.
The lesson is an adventure palette signals a tool watch. Boldr’s world is a rugged, capable, outdoors object. For designers, it is a reminder that a tool identity — lightweight, high-lume, hard-wearing — can be delivered with real design and value, and that a bold, outdoors palette signals that purpose. Because an orange can fail as small text, keep type dark and let the colour live in the accents, palette and band. The takeaways: build a tool; keep it light; lume it well; and treat any single hex as unofficial.
Typography
The register is an adventure sans — sturdy, technical, bold.
Boldr’s identity carries a sturdy, technical, bold spirit — a rugged, outdoors object. A technical grotesque sans captures the mood: it is robust and legible, the register of expedition tools. Set in an adventure palette, the adventure sans feels sturdy and technical — exactly the personality Boldr carries. It is bold rather than delicate, mirroring a tool watch. (Boldr’s real dial and wordmark are works we describe but do not reproduce, and the exact typeface is not ours to use.) Because it is not ours to use, the honest description is “an adventure sans spirit,” shown here in a stand-in. The type behaves like the brand: sturdy, technical and bold.

Adventure-tool design as identity
Boldr stands for the adventure watch.
Boldr is a lesson in designing a tool with value. An adventure palette, an adventure sans and a lightweight diver make adventure-tool design the whole brand — rugged, bold, capable. The tool is the differentiator. The differentiator is delivering genuine expedition capability — titanium, strong lume, hard-wearing cases — at an accessible price.
Put to work, the identity is capability made affordable. A designer building in this spirit would focus on the functional promises that matter outdoors — weight, legibility, durability — and meet them at a fair price, so the object earns trust in the field. The lesson Boldr teaches is that a clear purpose plus value can carry a microbrand: committing to adventure tools, lume and lightweight metal gives it a focused identity, and a bold, technical design language keeps that purpose consistent.
For designers and brand-builders, Boldr offers a clear takeaway: promise capability and deliver value. The lessons: build a tool; keep it light; lume it well; and be honest about the story. It is also a reminder to stay accurate — and to use the full name: it is BOLDR Supply Co., distinct from other “Boldr” names — the palette here is an unofficial interpretation. And it is a reminder that movement honesty matters in watches: its calibres are third-party (Seiko, Miyota, some Swiss), designed in Singapore and assembled in Asia, so we never imply in-house. It is a reminder, too, that cultural marks deserve care: its Merlion editions reference a Singapore symbol, which we describe but never reproduce. It is a reminder, too, that a cause can deepen a tool brand: pairing rugged, affordable watches with conservation and charity work gives the adventure story a purpose beyond the trail. Boldr made the adventure watch the brand — proof that a tool with value can be the difference.
