The Deluxe eagle deck brand

Anti-Hero is the San Francisco deck brand founded by Julien Stranger in the mid-1990s, run by Deluxe Distribution.

Anti-Hero brings the distribution round its second Deluxe brand — the San Francisco deck company founded by Julien Stranger in the mid-1990s, known for its eagle mark and its uncompromising attitude, and run, like Real, by Deluxe Distribution. Anti-Hero makes and sells the decks, and its answer to a round about distribution is that it shares a house with Real, proof that one house can run several brands. A brand, distributed.

Its identity is the Deluxe eagle deck brand. The Julien Stranger founding, the eagle identity and the Deluxe Distribution house are the story here. A brand, distributed. The Deluxe eagle deck brand.

(Honest notes, so the name is styled right, and a year stays hedged. Anti-Hero sells skateboard decks as its heroes, and we report its performance language as the brand’s own; on its own site the name is styled as one word, Antihero, though it is commonly written Anti-Hero, and we note both. On who runs it, the star theme of this round, it is a Deluxe Distribution brand, based in San Francisco; it is confirmed active, with a current-season drop dated to 2026. It was founded by Julien Stranger; the founding year is commonly given as around 1995, which we could not attach to a primary source, so we date it to the mid-1990s and hold the exact year open. Its eagle logo is iconic and its own IP, so we describe it but reproduce none of the artwork. Its designs are IP we describe but do not reproduce; there is no official brand hex; these tones are an unofficial interpretation.)

Colour

Anti-Hero lives in a pigeon slate. Click a swatch to copy the hex.

Anti-Hero’s identity is distributed, uncompromising and San Franciscan — a pigeon slate, an ink, a pale steel, a deep graphite, and a paper. The palette leans pigeon slate and pale steel: a grey, hard-edged register that nods to the brand’s stark black-and-white world rather than a loud logo colour. It signals a Deluxe eagle deck brand. The honest caveat: with no published brand hex, these values are an original, unofficial interpretation, not first-party colours.

The lesson is a pigeon slate signals a distributed, uncompromising identity. Anti-Hero’s world is a stark, attitude-first deck run by Deluxe. For designers, it is a reminder that a pigeon slate and a soft pale steel can carry a skate brand — a hard-edged tone held as colour not as the eagle. Because these tones can fail as small text, keep type dark and let the colour live in the accents, palette and band. The takeaways: name Deluxe as the house; note the Antihero styling; hold the founding year open; and treat any single hex as unofficial.

Typography

The register is an eagle sans — distributed, plain, uncompromising.

Anti-Hero’s identity carries a distributed, plain, uncompromising spirit — a deck brand within a house, not a graphics label. An eagle sans captures the mood: clean, hard and confident, the register of a stark skate brand. Set in a pigeon-slate palette, the eagle sans feels distributed and uncompromising — exactly the personality Anti-Hero carries. It is a made deck rather than a logo, mirroring maple veneer. (Anti-Hero’s real decks, graphics and eagle logo are things we describe but do not reproduce, and the exact typeface is not ours to use.) Because it is not ours to use, the honest description is “an eagle-sans brand,” shown here in a stand-in. The type behaves like the brand: distributed, plain and uncompromising.

The distribution

Anti-Hero stands for the Deluxe eagle deck brand.

Anti-Hero brings the distribution round its second Deluxe brand. A pigeon-slate palette, an eagle sans and a Julien Stranger founding make one thing — the Deluxe eagle deck brand — the whole identity: distributed, uncompromising and San Franciscan. The Deluxe house is the pitch, and the shared house with Real is the proof that a house runs several brands. The point is a second Deluxe brand, in a round about distribution.

Put to work, the identity is the brand told straight, name styled right and year hedged. A maker in this spirit would name Deluxe as the house, note the Antihero styling, and hold the founding year open. A reader in this spirit would keep the facts right: Anti-Hero sells skateboard decks as its heroes; on its own site the name is styled as one word, Antihero, though commonly written Anti-Hero; it is a Deluxe Distribution brand, based in San Francisco, confirmed active with a 2026 drop; it was founded by Julien Stranger, with the founding year commonly given as around 1995 but held open as the mid-1990s; and its eagle logo is iconic IP, reproduced nowhere here. Anti-Hero closes the round’s Deluxe pair, after Real. The honest editorial moves are to credit Julien Stranger, to name Deluxe, to note the Antihero styling, and to hold the founding year open.

For designers and brand-builders, Anti-Hero continues the distribution: show one house can run several brands — and style the name as the brand does. The lessons: let a stark deck carry a distribution identity; show a house owning more than one brand; respect a brand’s own name styling; hold an unverified founding year open; and never reproduce a mark. It is also a reminder to stay precise: Anti-Hero is the San Francisco deck brand founded by Julien Stranger in the mid-1990s, run by Deluxe Distribution — with the palette here an unofficial interpretation. Read that way, Anti-Hero is less a deck than a Deluxe brand: distributed, uncompromising, San Franciscan. The lesson for a brand is that a named house and honest styling reinforce each other, and hedging the year keeps the story earned. Anti-Hero made the-Deluxe-eagle-deck-brand the identity — proof that distribution carries the round.

Source & notes

Editorial reference. This article reports publicly documented facts about Anti-Hero’s visual identity as design commentary; it is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Anti-Hero or Deluxe Distribution. The Anti-Hero name and its designs are IP of their owners — the graphics here are original abstract homages (colour discs and maple-veneer texture swatches); no deck, graphic or logo is reproduced, and all specimen text is set in a Google-Font stand-in. Facts reported from public record (Wikipedia and the brand’s own site): Anti-Hero (styled “Antihero” on its own site) sells skateboard decks as its heroes; founded by Julien Stranger; a Deluxe Distribution brand, based in San Francisco; confirmed active (a current-season drop is dated to 2026). Honest notes: ⚠ the founding year is commonly given as ~1995 but could not be attached to a primary source, so it is dated to the mid-1990s and held open; ⚠ its eagle logo is iconic IP and is not reproduced here; all performance language is the brand’s own. No official brand hex is used, so the tones here are an unofficial interpretation.
