Monc Brand Guidelines
Worn for years, not seasons.

Two constants: a sage-and-stone palette and a clean minimal register. Abstract homage — not a Monc frame or wordmark.
Worn for years, not seasons
Monc makes minimal, considered eyewear designed to last, in Italian bio-acetate.
Monc is a lesson in longevity as the identity. A London eyewear house, it makes minimal, considered frames “designed to be worn for years, not seasons” — enduring shapes in bio-acetate, backed by an in-store repair service and a circular, anti-throwaway ethic. The frame is meant to evolve with its wearer, not be replaced each season.
Its identity is worn for years, not seasons. Monc’s quiet, refined, lasting frames — designed in London, handcrafted in Italy — are the work it is known for. Eyewear, made to endure. A house against the seasonal churn.
(Honest notes, so the story stays precise. Monc was founded in London in 2016 by Freddie Elborne — not 2018 — and is independent and founder-led. On making, an important point: it is designed in London but handcrafted in Italy, in bio-acetate supplied by Mazzucchelli 1849, so we say “handcrafted in Italy,” never “made in the UK.” On credentials, it is a Certified B Corp, achieved around 2026, which we state precisely; we do not add unverified “plastic-neutral” or “carbon-neutral” claims — only what Monc states: bio-acetate, recycled packaging, a repair model. Its one verified product collaboration is MONC × Monocle (the Chiltern Frame); the tastemaker names in its “In The Frame” journal are editorial features, not collaborations, so we don’t call them that. It should not be confused with Moncler. Its frames and wordmark are its IP, described but never reproduced, and there is no official brand hex — these tones are an unofficial interpretation. This is design commentary and does not promote any product.)
Colour
Monc lives in a sage-and-stone palette. Click a swatch to copy the hex.
Monc’s identity is calm, natural and considered — a sage, an ink, a stone, a graphite, and a paper. The palette leans sage and stone: the register of natural materials and quiet permanence. It signals restraint and longevity over trend. The honest caveat: with no published brand hex, these values are an original, unofficial interpretation, not first-party colours.
The lesson is a sage-and-stone palette signals a considered, lasting identity. Monc’s world is a calm, natural, considered object. For designers, it is a reminder that a soft, natural palette can carry a brand built on longevity and sustainability — quiet tones that feel made to last. Because a mid sage can fail as small text, keep type dark and let the colour live in the accents, palette and band. The takeaways: design for years; use honest materials; back the claims; and treat any single hex as unofficial.
Typography
The register is a clean minimal — quiet, refined, enduring.
Monc’s identity carries a quiet, refined, enduring spirit — a considered object, not a loud one. A clean minimal sans captures the mood: calm, modern and understated, the register of lasting design. Set in a sage-and-stone palette, the clean minimal feels quiet and refined — exactly the personality Monc carries. It is enduring rather than fashionable, mirroring a considered, long-life frame. (Monc’s real frames, its Monocle collaboration and its wordmark are things we describe but do not reproduce, and the exact typeface is not ours to use.) Because it is not ours to use, the honest description is “a clean-minimal spirit,” shown here in a stand-in. The type behaves like the brand: quiet, refined and enduring.

Longevity as identity
Monc stands for worn for years, not seasons.
Monc is a lesson in making longevity the identity. A sage-and-stone palette, a clean minimal and enduring, bio-acetate frames make “worn for years, not seasons” the whole brand — quiet, natural and considered. The longevity is the differentiator. The differentiator is a genuine anti-throwaway ethic — lasting shapes, a repair service, considered materials — set against a seasonal, disposable market.
Put to work, the identity is longevity as design. A house building in this spirit would design for endurance, back it with honest materials and repair, and prove the claims rather than pose, so the customer buys into permanence and responsibility rather than a trend. The lesson Monc teaches is that a real longevity ethic plus genuine credentials can build a brand: the enduring design gives it meaning, and the bio-acetate and B Corp status give it substance — as long as the claims stay precise. The longevity is the personality, and the honesty is the proof.
For designers and brand-builders, Monc offers a clear takeaway: design to last, and back it. The lessons: design for years; use honest materials; keep the claims precise; and be honest about the story. It is also a reminder to stay accurate: Monc was founded in London in 2016 by Freddie Elborne, designs in London and is handcrafted in Italy in Mazzucchelli bio-acetate, and is a Certified B Corp since around 2026 — so we don’t say “made in the UK” or add unverified neutrality claims, and only MONC × Monocle is a verified collaboration, with the palette here an unofficial interpretation. Monc made longevity the brand — proof that made-to-last can be the difference.
