WANDRD Brand Guidelines
Wander more, worry less — a camera-and-travel pack that started on a Kickstarter from mom and dad’s kitchen.

Two constants: an orange-and-slate adventure palette and a tall, condensed display. Abstract homage — not the WANDRD wordmark.
Wander more, worry less
WANDRD started at a kitchen table.
WANDRD is a lesson in crowdfunding a photography-meets-travel crossover. It was founded in 2015 in Utah by the Cope brothers — Ryan and Spencer conceived it, and older brother Austin joined about a year later to run the business side. (An honest correction: it’s the Cope brothers, not any “Peterson” brothers; and the specific city is best left as “Utah,” since WANDRD’s own story only says they started “in mom and dad’s kitchen” and worked from their father’s basement.) The name is a designed-in gimmick: WANDRD is “wandered” with the vowels removed, styled in all caps. (Two honest notes: no official brand hex is published, and the wordmark typeface is undocumented.)
The origin was a Kickstarter: the PRVKE Pack launched in October 2015 (raising ~$110K), with a follow-up campaign topping $400K. The PRVKE (now in its fourth version, in 21L/31L/41L) is the flagship — a camera-and-travel backpack with a roll-top, weather-resistant tarpaulin and ballistic nylon, clamshell and quick-draw side access, and compatibility with WANDRD’s modular Camera Cube system. That photography-plus-travel versatility is the whole idea.
WANDRD’s naming style plays with dropped and foreign spellings across the line (PRVKE, and the German-derived FERNWEH, “far-sickness”). An honest, useful note on the current range: the HEXAD duffel and FERNWEH travel pack are earlier products that have been discontinued — the current line-up centres on the PRVKE, the TRANSIT travel pack, the CARRYALL duffel, the ROGUE sling, and everyday packs like the NIMBUS. WANDRD remains independent and founder-led (the three Cope brothers). Its colours are released as evocative names — Black, Aegean Blue, Wasatch Green, Sedona Orange — rather than published hex. Wander more, worry less.
Colour
WANDRD lives in an orange-and-slate adventure palette. Click a swatch to copy the hex.
WANDRD’s identity leans on an adventurous, outdoor palette — deep slate and navy, black and stone greys, plus warm accent tones like a Sedona orange and a Wasatch green (real WANDRD colourway names). The core reads as capable, weather-ready and photographic — the look of gear meant for both a city commute and a faraway shoot — while the warm accents add character and differentiate the range. It’s a versatile, adventure-crossover palette that matches a photography-and-travel brand. The honest caveat: WANDRD publishes no official brand hex, so the orange, slate and stone here are an original, unofficial interpretation of its named colourways, not first-party values.
The lesson is an adventure palette with warm accents signals versatile capability. WANDRD’s slate-and-orange world reads as camera-and-travel ready. For designers, it’s a reminder that a capable core plus warm accent tones can bridge outdoor and everyday. The takeaways: use capable, weather-ready tones with warm accents; name colourways evocatively; and treat specific hexes as unofficial when the palette is name-based.
Typography
The wordmark is a tall condensed caps — bold and adventurous.
WANDRD’s identity carries a bold, adventurous, modern spirit — the vowelless all-caps “WANDRD” wordmark whose tall, condensed letterforms read as confident, purposeful and expedition-ready. The bold type matches a brand built on photography-and-travel adventure and clever, weather-ready gear, and its stripped-down (vowelless) styling mirrors the minimalist, designed-in wordplay of the name. Set against an orange-and-slate adventure palette, the type feels bold and purposeful — exactly the “wander more, worry less” personality WANDRD cultivates. It’s tall and condensed rather than delicate, mirroring the rugged, versatile packs. Because the exact wordmark face isn’t publicly documented, the honest description is “a tall condensed caps spirit,” not a named font. The type behaves like the brand: bold, adventurous and modern.

Versatility as the difference
WANDRD bridged camera and travel.
WANDRD is a lesson in solving a crossover need through modular design. Photographers who travel faced a real problem: dedicated camera bags looked like camera bags and travelled badly, while travel bags couldn’t protect gear. WANDRD’s PRVKE answered it with genuine versatility — a weather-resistant, good-looking pack with a roll-top for flexible volume, quick side access to a camera, and a modular Camera Cube system that lets one bag flip between a camera rig and an everyday or travel pack. That modular, dual-purpose design is the whole differentiator, and it’s why the brand resonated with the creator generation that both shoots and travels. Backed by an authentic bootstrap story (a Kickstarter run from the founders’ parents’ kitchen) and a founder-led structure, WANDRD reads as credible to its audience rather than corporate. The lesson is that identifying an unserved crossover — and solving it with modular, adaptable design — can create a distinct brand in a crowded category. Build one bag that does two jobs well, and you own the overlap.
For designers and brand-builders, WANDRD offers a clear takeaway: modular design that serves a crossover need can define a brand. The lessons: find the unserved overlap (photographers who travel); solve it with adaptable, modular systems (the roll-top, the Camera Cubes, quick access); and back it with an authentic origin (a kitchen-table Kickstarter). It’s also a reminder to keep the facts precise — WANDRD was founded in 2015 in Utah by the Cope brothers, is known for the PRVKE camera-travel pack and its Camera Cube system, and is independent and founder-led. WANDRD bridged camera and travel — proof that modular versatility can be the difference.
