La Soufflerie Brand Guidelines
The recycled breath.

Two constants: a sea-green-and-sand palette and a humanist sans register. Abstract homage — not a La Soufflerie piece or wordmark.
The recycled breath
La Soufflerie mouth-blows every piece from one hundred per cent recycled glass.
La Soufflerie is a lesson in a material ethic as the identity. A French atelier in Paris, it mouth-blows every vase, carafe and candlestick from recycled glass — a non-profit where the breath and the material are the whole point.
Its identity is the recycled breath. La Soufflerie’s hand-blown pieces — made from one hundred per cent recycled glass, each one unique, with bubbles and slight asymmetry left in — are the work it is known for. Old glass, blown new. Imperfection as beauty.
(Honest notes: La Soufflerie is a French glass atelier based in Paris, founded around 2009 and run as a non-profit association led by Sébastien Nobile and team. Its signature is mouth-blowing from one hundred per cent recycled glass — vases, carafes, candlesticks and tumblers, each hand-blown and unique, with transparency, bubbles and small imperfections embraced as the aesthetic — and its mission includes teaching and employing glassblowers. On production, an important nuance: while the Paris atelier is central, La Soufflerie also has workshops in Tunisia and Turkey, so not everything is Paris-made, and some pieces are formed using bronze moulds rather than being free-blown — so we don’t claim all pieces are hand-blown in Paris. It is independent, a founder-led non-profit. Its forms are IP we describe but don’t reproduce. There’s no official brand hex — these tones are an unofficial interpretation. This is design commentary and does not promote any product.)
Colour
La Soufflerie lives in a sea-green-and-sand palette. Click a swatch to copy the hex.
La Soufflerie’s identity is natural, honest and warm — a sea green, an ink, a sand, a graphite, and a mist. The palette leans sea green and sand — the register of recycled glass’s natural tint and the warmth of hand-work. It signals material and craft rather than novelty. The honest caveat: with no published brand hex, these tones are an original, unofficial interpretation, not first-party values.
The lesson is a sea-green-and-sand palette signals recycled glass. La Soufflerie’s world is a natural, honest, warm object. For designers, it is a reminder that a material ethic — mouth-blowing from recycled glass — can be the whole identity, and that a natural, glassy palette signals that value. Because a mid sea green can fail as small text, keep type dark and let the colour live in the accents, palette and band. The takeaways: make the material the point; keep the breath human; embrace imperfection; and treat any single hex as unofficial.
Typography
The register is a humanist sans — warm, honest, approachable.
La Soufflerie’s identity carries a warm, honest, approachable spirit — a natural, hand-made object. A humanist sans captures the mood: it is friendly and unforced, the register of honest craft. Set in a sea-green-and-sand palette, the humanist sans feels warm and honest — exactly the personality La Soufflerie carries. It is human rather than slick, mirroring hand-blown recycled glass. (La Soufflerie’s real pieces and wordmark are works we describe but do not reproduce, and the exact typeface is not ours to use.) Because it is not ours to use, the honest description is “a humanist sans spirit,” shown here in a stand-in. The type behaves like the brand: warm, honest and approachable.

A material ethic as identity
La Soufflerie stands for the recycled breath.
La Soufflerie is a lesson in making a material ethic the identity. A sea-green-and-sand palette, a humanist sans and a hand-blown vase make recycled glass the whole brand — natural, honest, warm. The ethic is the differentiator. The differentiator is a value made visible: every piece mouth-blown from recycled glass, each one unique, imperfection left in as proof of the hand.
Put to work, the identity is a material ethic as design. A workshop building in this spirit would choose a value — here, recycling and hand-blowing — and let it shape everything, from the greenish tint to the accepted bubbles, so the object tells its own story. The lesson La Soufflerie teaches is that a material ethic plus real craft can build a brand: a clear value, mouth-blown making, and a warm, honest design language give it an identity a slicker product can’t claim. The ethic is the meaning, and the breath is the proof.
For designers and brand-builders, La Soufflerie offers a clear takeaway: let a material ethic carry the object. The lessons: make the material the point; keep the breath human; embrace imperfection; and be honest about the story. It is also a reminder to stay accurate: while the Paris atelier is central, La Soufflerie also produces in Tunisia and Turkey and uses bronze moulds for some pieces — so “all hand-blown in Paris” would overstate it — and the palette here is an unofficial interpretation. And it is a reminder that honesty about where and how things are made is part of the ethic itself. La Soufflerie made the recycled breath the brand — proof that a material ethic can be the difference.
