Sensi Brand Guidelines
The Copeland value line.

Two constants: a value-green palette and a value-sans register. Abstract homage — not a Sensi product or mark; no thermostat, dial or logo is reproduced.
The Copeland value line
Sensi is the value smart-thermostat brand now under Blackstone-backed Copeland (ex-Emerson), built on HVAC-pro credibility.
Sensi brings the round its value node — a smart thermostat with HVAC-professional credibility and a DIY-friendly reputation, whose corporate parent quietly changed. Its answer to a round about who owns the smart thermostat and where it is made needs a correction: Sensi is no longer an Emerson brand, it is now part of Copeland, the Blackstone-backed company that Emerson’s climate business became.
Its identity is the Copeland value line. The value positioning, the HVAC-pro credibility and the Emerson-to-Copeland ownership change are the story here. A thermostat, value. The Copeland value line.
(Honest notes, so the ownership correction and the positioning are framed accurately. Sensi sells value-oriented smart thermostats as its heroes — the Sensi Smart, the Sensi Touch 2 and the Sensi Lite, plus sensors and a multiple-thermostat manager — positioned on easy DIY installation, HVAC-professional credibility, energy savings and data-privacy messaging; we report its language as the brand’s own. On the ownership correction that matters: the common belief that Sensi equals Emerson is now outdated — Sensi came from Emerson’s Climate Technologies division, but in a 2022-to-2023 deal Blackstone acquired a controlling stake and the business was renamed Copeland, with a 2024 follow-on further reducing Emerson’s holding, so Sensi today sits under Copeland, a Blackstone-backed standalone, not Emerson proper. On heritage: the Sensi brand launched under Emerson in the mid-2010s, on an older thermostat lineage. On where it is made: China and Asia contract manufacturing. On a name confusion: Sensi the thermostat is unrelated to other brands using the word Sensi. Its designs, the Sensi name and the Copeland-and-Emerson corporate marks are IP we describe but do not reproduce, and we attribute it to Copeland without implying Emerson endorsement; these tones are an unofficial interpretation.)
Colour
Sensi lives in a value green. Click a swatch to copy the hex.
Sensi’s identity is value, practical and pro-credible — a value green, an ink, a pale mint, a deep pine, and a paper. The palette leans value green and pale mint: a fresh, efficient register that nods to energy savings and easy installation rather than a loud logo colour. It signals the Copeland value line — value, practical and pro-credible. The honest caveat: with no published brand hex, these values are an original, unofficial interpretation, not first-party colours.
The lesson is a value green signals a value, practical identity. Sensi’s world is an affordable, DIY-friendly thermostat with HVAC-pro backing. For designers, it is a reminder that a fresh value green and a soft pale mint can carry a hardware brand — an efficient tone held as colour, not a product shot. Because these tones can fail as small text, keep type dark and let the colour live in the accents, palette and band. The takeaways: correct the owner to Copeland, Blackstone-backed, not Emerson; lead with value and HVAC-pro credibility; note the data-privacy messaging; and place manufacturing in Asia.
Typography
The register is a value sans — value, practical, pro-credible.
Sensi’s identity carries a value, practical, pro-credible spirit — an HVAC-rooted value brand, not a design-led premium. A value sans captures the mood: clean, plain and dependable, the register of an affordable, pro-backed thermostat. Set in a value-green palette, the value sans feels value and practical — exactly the personality Sensi carries. It behaves like a made, functional thing rather than a loud logo, mirroring a heat gradient and a dial ring. (Sensi’s real products and the name are things we describe but do not reproduce, and the exact typeface is not ours to use.) Because it is not ours to use, the honest description is “a value-sans brand,” shown here in a stand-in. The type behaves like the brand: value, practical and pro-credible.

The smart thermostat
Sensi stands for the Copeland value line.
Sensi brings the round its value node. A value-green palette, a value sans and an HVAC-pro heritage make one thing — the Copeland value line — the whole identity: value, practical and pro-credible. The value positioning is the pitch, and the HVAC-pro credibility is the proof — with the Emerson-to-Copeland change the correction. The point is a value thermostat whose parent quietly became Copeland, in a round about who owns the smart thermostat and where it is made.
Put to work, the identity is the brand told straight, the owner corrected and the positioning led with. A brand in this spirit would correct the owner to Copeland, Blackstone-backed, not Emerson, and lead with value and HVAC-pro credibility. A reader in this spirit would keep the facts right: Sensi sells value smart thermostats — the Touch 2 and Lite — as heroes; it came from Emerson’s climate business but is now part of Copeland, a Blackstone-backed standalone; it competes on DIY install and HVAC-pro credibility; and it is made in Asia. Sensi sits third in the round, after Mysa. The honest editorial moves are to correct the owner to Copeland, to lead with value and pro credibility, to note the data-privacy messaging, and to place manufacturing in Asia.
For designers and brand-builders, Sensi continues the smart thermostat: compete on value and pro credibility — and correct an outdated ownership claim precisely. The lessons: a value brand can lean on HVAC-professional credibility rather than premium design; an ownership change — Emerson’s climate business becoming Blackstone-backed Copeland — must be corrected, since “Sensi is Emerson’s” is outdated; a data-privacy stance is a real value axis; and a brand should be attributed to its current owner without implying the former one’s endorsement. It is also a reminder to stay precise: Sensi is the value smart-thermostat brand now under Blackstone-backed Copeland (ex-Emerson), built on HVAC-pro credibility — with the palette here an unofficial interpretation. The hook is that quiet change: Sensi still reads as the affordable, HVAC-pro-backed thermostat it always was, but its parent is no longer Emerson — Emerson’s climate business became Blackstone-backed Copeland, so Sensi is a Copeland brand now, a corporate shift most buyers never noticed. Read that way, Sensi is less an Emerson product than the Copeland value line: value, practical, pro-credible. The lesson for a brand is that value credibility and an honest ownership correction reinforce each other, and naming Copeland keeps the story earned. Sensi made the-Copeland-value-line the identity — proof that value can carry a round.
