Taurus Brand Guidelines
The hand blender.

Two constants: a Spanish-warm palette and a warm serif register. Abstract homage — not the Taurus blender, bull mark or wordmark.
The hand blender
Taurus built its name on the Spanish hand blender.
Taurus is a lesson in a heritage product as the identity. Founded in 1962 in Oliana, in Catalonia, it built its name on the hand blender — its “Bapi” immersion blender is the object it is known for.
Its identity is the hand blender. Taurus makes the Bapi stick blender, alongside a broad range of food processors, coffee makers, fryers and other appliances, but the hand blender anchors its identity. An everyday Spanish essential. A stick blender that became a household staple.
(Honest notes: Taurus was founded in 1962 in Oliana, in the Lleida province of Catalonia, Spain — reportedly started in a garage by Francisco Betriu and Jorge Escaler, making coffee grinders and hair dryers (founder names come from secondary sources, so we treat them as moderately confident). Its signature is the hand/stick blender, marketed as “Bapi”; the claim that it was the “first hand blender in Spain” is a brand claim we attribute rather than state as fact. On production, it is designed in Spain but largely made in China (through Taurus Ningbo), so we don’t claim a single origin. On ownership, it is part of Grupo Taurus (Oliana) — bought by the Generalitat de Catalunya in 1993 and privatized in 1997 — a group spanning around seventeen brands, including Mycook and Solac. One disambiguation: it is unrelated to the Ford Taurus car, Taurus firearms, or the zodiac sign. There’s no official brand hex, and we reproduce no blender, bull mark or logo — these tones are an unofficial interpretation. This is design commentary and does not promote any product.)
Colour
Taurus lives in a Spanish-warm palette. Click a swatch to copy the hex.
Taurus’ identity is warm, everyday and Spanish — a terracotta, an ink, an ochre, an olive, and a cream. The palette leans Spanish warm — the register of an accessible, Mediterranean home brand. It signals warmth and utility rather than novelty. The honest caveat: with no published brand hex, these tones are an original, unofficial interpretation, not first-party values.
The lesson is a Spanish-warm palette signals an accessible everyday brand. Taurus’ world is a warm, practical object. For designers, it is a reminder that a single heritage product — the hand blender — can anchor a broad, affordable range, and that a warm, Mediterranean palette signals accessibility. Because a terracotta can fail as small text, keep type dark and let the colour live in the accents, palette and band. The takeaways: anchor on a heritage product; keep it accessible; keep it warm; and treat any single hex as unofficial.
Typography
The register is a warm serif — friendly, everyday, Mediterranean.
Taurus’ identity carries a friendly, everyday, Mediterranean spirit — a warm, practical object. A humanist serif captures the mood: it is approachable and warm, the register of an accessible Spanish brand. Set in a Spanish-warm palette, the warm serif feels friendly and everyday — exactly the personality Taurus carries. It is Mediterranean rather than clinical, mirroring a household staple. (Taurus’ real blender, bull mark and wordmark are works we describe but do not reproduce, and the exact typeface is not ours to use.) Because it is not ours to use, the honest description is “a warm serif spirit,” shown here in a stand-in. The type behaves like the brand: friendly, everyday and Mediterranean.

A heritage product as identity
Taurus stands for the hand blender.
Taurus is a lesson in making a heritage product the identity. A Spanish-warm palette, a warm serif and a hand blender make an everyday essential the whole brand — friendly, accessible, Spanish. The heritage is the differentiator. The differentiator is a signature product — the Bapi hand blender — that anchors a huge, affordable range.
Put to work, the identity is an anchor everyone knows. A designer building in this spirit would invest in one recognisable everyday product and let it carry the brand, so a broad, value range borrows familiarity from the staple at its centre. The lesson Taurus teaches is that a heritage staple compounds recognition: being “the Bapi hand blender” in Spanish kitchens gives the whole catalogue a foothold, and a warm, Mediterranean design language keeps that everyday feeling.
For designers and brand-builders, Taurus offers a clear takeaway: anchor a broad range on one heritage staple. The lessons: anchor on a heritage product; keep it accessible; keep it warm; and be honest about the story. It is also a reminder to stay accurate: it was founded in 1962 in Oliana, its signature is the hand blender, and — importantly — it is designed in Spain but largely made in China, within Grupo Taurus — the palette here is an unofficial interpretation. And it is a reminder to attribute claims carefully: the “first hand blender in Spain” is the brand’s own claim, which we credit to Taurus rather than assert. It is a reminder, too, that a common name needs distinguishing: this appliance Taurus is unrelated to the Ford Taurus, Taurus firearms or the zodiac sign, and saying so plainly spares the reader a confusion. Taurus made the hand blender the brand — proof that a heritage product can be the difference.
