The independent UFC-outfitting fight brand

Venum is the independent French fight brand founded in 2006, the UFC’s exclusive outfitter through 2029, with gear made in Asia and premium gloves hand-sewn in Thailand.

Venum brings the fighter’s-hands round its independent-global node — a French fight brand that grew into the sport’s most visible kit supplier while staying founder-controlled. It was founded in 2006 in Paris by Franck Dupuis and André Vieira, under the parent Dragon Bleu. Venum makes and sells the gear, and its answer to a round about where fight gear is made is an honest one: designed from Europe, made in Asia, with its premium gloves hand-sewn in Thailand.

Its identity is the independent UFC-outfitting fight brand. The independence, the UFC outfitting deal and the Asia-made gear are the story here. A brand, independent — and everywhere in the cage. The independent UFC-outfitting fight brand.

(Honest notes, so the ownership is clarified and the where-made claim is measured. Venum sells MMA, boxing and Muay Thai gloves, fight kit and apparel as its heroes, and we report its performance language as the brand’s own. It was founded in 2006 by Franck Dupuis and André Vieira; a second co-founder name that circulates is uncorroborated, so we credit the two we can confirm. On ownership, the point worth clarifying: Venum is independent and privately held — it is not owned by the UFC — but it is the UFC’s exclusive outfitting partner, having succeeded Reebok in 2021, with the deal extended through 2029. On where it is made: its premium Elite and Giant gloves are hand-sewn in Thailand and its entry lines are made in China, while the full factory footprint is not disclosed, so we say “made in Asia, with premium gloves hand-sewn in Thailand,” and we note its Pattaya site is a training gym, not a factory. Its designs, including the snake motif, are IP we describe but do not reproduce; there is no official brand hex; these tones are an unofficial interpretation.)

Colour

Venum lives in a venom green. Click a swatch to copy the hex.

Venum’s identity is modern, bold and independent — a venom green, an ink, a pale mint, a deep forest, and a paper. The palette leans venom green and pale mint: a striking, contemporary register that nods to the brand’s venom theme rather than a loud logo colour. It signals an independent UFC-outfitting fight brand — sharp, current and everywhere. The honest caveat: with no published brand hex, these values are an original, unofficial interpretation, not first-party colours.

The lesson is a venom green signals a modern, independent identity. Venum’s world is the cage, the fight kit and the strike. For designers, it is a reminder that a bold venom green and a soft pale mint can carry a fight brand — a striking tone held as colour, not as a snake or a logo. Because these tones can fail as small text, keep type dark and let the colour live in the accents, palette and band. The takeaways: credit Dupuis and Vieira; date it to 2006; note the independence and the UFC deal; and treat any single hex as unofficial.

Typography

The register is a modern sans — bold, current, independent.

Venum’s identity carries a bold, current, independent spirit — a modern fight brand, not a heritage house. A modern sans captures the mood: clean, sharp and confident, the register of a brand built for the cage. Set in a venom-green palette, the modern sans feels bold and current — exactly the personality Venum carries. It behaves like a modern kit rather than an old logo, mirroring technical materials. (Venum’s real gloves, the snake motif and the wordmark are things we describe but do not reproduce, and the exact typeface is not ours to use.) Because it is not ours to use, the honest description is “a modern-sans brand,” shown here in a stand-in. The type behaves like the brand: bold, current and independent.

The fighter’s hands

Venum stands for the independent UFC-outfitting fight brand.

Venum brings the round its independent-global node. A venom-green palette, a modern sans and a 2006 founding make one thing — the independent UFC-outfitting fight brand — the whole identity: modern, bold and independent. The independence is the pitch, and the UFC outfitting deal is the proof of reach. The point is a founder-controlled fight brand that won the sport’s most visible kit contract, in a round about where fight gear is made.

Put to work, the identity is the brand told straight, ownership clarified and where-made measured. A maker in this spirit would credit Franck Dupuis and André Vieira, date it to 2006, and note the independence and the UFC deal. A reader in this spirit would keep the facts right: Venum sells MMA, boxing and Muay Thai gloves, fight kit and apparel as its heroes; it was founded in 2006 in Paris; it is independent and privately held, not owned by the UFC, but is the UFC’s exclusive outfitter through 2029; and its premium gloves are hand-sewn in Thailand while its entry lines are made in China. Venum sits among the round’s brands, after Yokkao. The honest editorial moves are to separate independence from the UFC partnership, to name where the gloves are made, to credit the two confirmed founders, and to describe the snake rather than depict it.

For designers and brand-builders, Venum continues the fighter’s hands: separate a partnership from ownership — and be honest about designed-here, made-in-Asia. The lessons: distinguish an outfitting deal from being owned by the league; credit confirmed founders over a circulating name; state where premium and entry lines are made; and never reproduce a signature motif. It is also a reminder to stay precise: Venum is the independent French fight brand founded in 2006, the UFC’s exclusive outfitter through 2029, with gear made in Asia and premium gloves hand-sewn in Thailand — with the palette here an unofficial interpretation. Read that way, Venum is less a glove than a modern fight identity: bold, current, independent. The lesson for a brand is that independence and a marquee partnership can coexist, and clarifying which is which keeps the story earned. Venum made the-independent-UFC-outfitting-fight-brand the identity — proof that an independent brand carries the round.

Editorial reference. This article reports publicly documented facts about Venum’s visual identity as design commentary; it is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Venum. The Venum name and its designs are IP of their owners — the graphics here are original abstract homages (colour discs and technical-material texture swatches); no glove, snake motif or logo is reproduced, and all specimen text is set in a Google-Font stand-in. Facts reported: Venum sells MMA, boxing and Muay Thai gloves, fight kit and apparel as its heroes; it was founded in 2006 in Paris by Franck Dupuis and André Vieira (parent Dragon Bleu); it is independent and privately held; it is the UFC’s exclusive outfitting partner (succeeding Reebok in 2021), extended through 2029. Honest notes: ⚠ Venum is NOT owned by the UFC — it is an independent supplier under contract; ⚠ a circulating second co-founder name is uncorroborated and not used; ⚠ gear is made in Asia — premium Elite/Giant gloves hand-sewn in Thailand, entry lines in China — and the full factory footprint is not disclosed (the Pattaya site is a training gym, not a factory); all performance language is the brand’s own. No official brand hex is used, so the tones here are an unofficial interpretation.
