Jaipur Watch Company Brand Guidelines
The coin dial.

Two constants: a brass-and-regal palette and a regal serif register. Abstract homage — not the Jaipur dial, any coin or wordmark.
The coin dial
Jaipur Watch Company builds dials from antique coins.
Jaipur Watch Company is a lesson in heritage storytelling as the identity. An Indian brand founded in 2013 in Jaipur, it makes watch dials from genuine antique coins.
Its identity is the coin dial. Its coin-dial watches — the Baagh and Imperial among them — are the pieces it is known for, each dial a real piece of numismatic history. A watch that tells two kinds of time. Indian heritage, on the wrist.
(Honest notes: Jaipur Watch Company is an Indian heritage watch brand founded in 2013 (not 2016) in Jaipur, Rajasthan, by Gaurav Mehta, who combined coin-collecting and vintage watches; its site is jaipur.watch. Its signature is dials made from genuine antique and vintage coins (and stamps), across collections like the Baagh (the Roman Baagh uses a 1947 walking-tiger one-rupee coin), the Imperial (its first coin watch), Filigree and hand-painted Pichwai pieces; we drop the unverified “Gandhi” and “Cosmos.” On the movement, it uses imported Japanese Miyota calibres (automatic and quartz), assembled in India — not an Indian-made or in-house movement. It is independent and founder-led. One important caution: because coins carry national and state imagery, we describe the coin-dial concept abstractly and reproduce no coin faces, currency or national emblems. There’s no official brand hex — these tones are an unofficial interpretation. This is design commentary and does not promote any product.)
Colour
Jaipur Watch Company lives in a brass-and-regal palette. Click a swatch to copy the hex.
Its identity is regal, warm and heritage — a brass, an ink, a regal maroon, an antique gold, and a cream. The palette leans brass and regal — the register of aged coins, gilding and Rajasthani heritage. It signals history and craft rather than novelty. The honest caveat: with no published brand hex, these tones are an original, unofficial interpretation, not first-party values.
The lesson is a brass-and-regal palette signals heritage storytelling. Jaipur Watch Company’s world is a regal, warm, historic object. For designers, it is a reminder that a real artefact — an antique coin — can turn a dial into a story, and that a brass-and-regal palette signals that heritage. Because a brass can fail as small text, keep type dark and let the colour live in the accents, palette and band. The takeaways: build on a real artefact; tell its story; keep it regal; and treat any single hex as unofficial.
Typography
The register is a regal serif — elegant, historic, warm.
Its identity carries an elegant, historic, warm spirit — a regal, heritage object. A high-contrast display serif captures the mood: it is refined and classical, the register of heritage storytelling. Set in a brass-and-regal palette, the regal serif feels elegant and historic — exactly the personality the brand carries. It is warm rather than modern, mirroring an antique-coin dial. (Its real dial, any coin and wordmark are works we describe but do not reproduce, and the exact typeface is not ours to use.) Because it is not ours to use, the honest description is “a regal serif spirit,” shown here in a stand-in. The type behaves like the brand: elegant, historic and warm.

Heritage storytelling as identity
Jaipur Watch Company stands for the coin dial.
Jaipur Watch Company is a lesson in building a dial from history. A brass-and-regal palette, a regal serif and an antique-coin dial make heritage storytelling the whole brand — regal, warm, historic. The artefact is the differentiator. The differentiator is a real antique coin at the centre of the watch, so each piece carries a genuine fragment of the past.
Put to work, the identity is provenance made wearable. A designer building in this spirit would place a real, meaningful artefact at the heart of the product, so the object tells a true story rather than an invented one. The lesson the brand teaches is that a real artefact can carry a heritage brand: a coin dial gives it authenticity and a narrative for every piece, and a regal, historic design language keeps that storytelling coherent.
For designers and brand-builders, it offers a clear takeaway: put a real artefact at the centre. The lessons: build on a real artefact; tell its story; keep it regal; and be honest about the story. It is also a reminder to stay accurate: it was founded in 2013 by Gaurav Mehta, and its site is jaipur.watch — the palette here is an unofficial interpretation. And it is a reminder that movement honesty matters in watches: it uses imported Japanese Miyota movements, assembled in India, so we never claim an Indian-made or in-house calibre. It is a reminder, too, that cultural imagery deserves care: because coins carry national and state emblems, we describe the concept abstractly and reproduce no coin faces. Jaipur Watch Company made the coin dial the brand — proof that heritage storytelling can be the difference.
